First impressions

First time in phoenix. Not close to any of the universities we were looking at. Staff was nit pleasant and grumpy. Room was very crowded and not much room to walk. Beds were ok but comforters were lumpy and not too comfy. Room smelled musty. Train and cells kept us up all night. Nothing was included and staff couldn't tell us where there was anything to do in Phoenix. Not a good stay.

baseball game trip

Everything was going fine for the whole day, until we got to the hotel and tried to find a parking space. When I went in to check in, I asked the desk clerk why they was so full and no parking spot around the hotel, I wasn't the only guest looking for a spot to park. we was told that since the new train rail for the airport was completed, people was using their parking spots for the park and ride to the airport. There was a four story parking garage behind the hotel that looked empty and was open and looked like a park and ride parking area. If I had known that was a issue, I would have chosen another hotel away from the park and ride areas. So other than that, our trip was very good.

Early flight from PHX

Arrived on a weekend evening; on the hotel shuttle at 4:00 the next morning. Room on 5th floor, airport/light rail side of hotel; no real issues with noise. Interesting, somewhat industrial room decor; eurodance music and club-level lighting in elevator. Firm, pedestal mattress (i.e. no box spring) but no comfort issues. One complaint- only cold or tepid water for shower. When I spoke with the person at the front desk, I basically got a “Huh”. Perhaps this is a common issue? Not a bad choice if the room rate is discounted (as it was for my stay).

Conveniently Located

Had a great time in Phoenix! The hotel was conveniently close to the airport. A little sketchy area though...people hanging around the local corner store, discussing their various stays in jail, and a few homeless folks sleeping on the benches in the circle behind the hotel... Hung the "Be Green" sign on the door the first day. The hotel staff did not even make up the room... When we inquired at the front desk she told us the "green" meant they would not even attend to the room at all. We did not hang the "green" sign up for the remainder of our stay. The room was never made up before about 4 in the afternoon anyhow...and the quantities of various things kept changing...we got a laugh out of it, guessing if we would have 2 towels, 4 towels, coffee or no coffee, glasses/cups or none etc DJ set up in the lobby on several nights - right near the bar...certainly not my choice of music but we could not hear it from our room so all was okay NO COMPLIMENTARY BREAKFAST! Was very surprised at this - 'specially since we did not know this until we got there

spring training father/son weekend

it's your average hotel, decent deal. The problem we experienced was when we came back Saturday night after watching 2 games (being at the ball park for approx. 10hrs) we found that our beds were made and that was it! The sheets on 1 of our beds was still dirty from the night before, they did not even pick up our used towels or leave us fresh towels. I had to call the front desk and go down stairs to p/u my own fresh towels. All I got in return was a free breakfast vouchure, wont be going back here.

Love this place, perfect for business traveler!

The staff is fantastic. They're very accommodate and move quickly in the checkin process so I can get to my room and rest. The rooms are quiet- great black out shades and the trendy feel to the hotel makes the experience feel special. I choose this hotel each time I fly thru Phoenix and have an overnight stay. Thanks Aloft!

Time-saving tip: Not Applicable

Don't rent a car- use the hotel shuttle from the airport if you're doing an overnight. It'll cut 30-45 minutes off your travel to the hotel and the shuttle is fast.
