Definitely stay here again!

Helpful and very friendly staff. Hotel is centrally located and you can even walk to dinner. The only bummer was the 6am wake-up calling from the dog owner in next room who wanted his dog to return.

Good & bad

Hotel needs some updating--some paint & redecorating. Carpet felt grungy under my feet. No remote for the TV and front desk couldn't find me one. No hair dryer, tho there was a mount for one on the wall. My friends stayed at the Super 8 almost across the street, and there room was much nicer. HOWEVER, the ground floor rooms have a front door & a back door, and the back door opens out to a beautiful courtyard of grass & trees, with very comfortable metal sliding chairs. I sat out there for a couple hours reading and really liked that element of the room. Staff very friendly.

Decent basic inn

This is my second stay at the Majestic Mountain Inn. the staff is always friendly and helpful, and the location is great. However, the hotel is in need of renovation. The tile under my room door was so uneven that the door would stick after opening less than halfway. The beds were just ok. The mattress on one of the beds showed obvious wear and needed to be replaced. The box spring on the other bed was exposed and showed staining and wear. Overall, the room suited my needs, but for the condition was a little overpriced.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

The hiking trails in and around this area are incredible. Stop just east of here on highway 260 at the ranger station and pick up some maps before heading out.

Cool mountain escape

Hotel had new carpet. Very good staff. Breakfast in lobby-eat on patio. Convenient location. Very quiet, we slept with our window open all night. Fun town. Close to other towns. Great way to escape heat of the valley. Plenty of antique shopping, museums and a beautiful lake.

Majestic Mountain Inn, Payson

Had an enjoyable stay. Not high-class, luxury accommodations, but definitely above average for the price. The room was pleasant, a notch above the common sort of room you see in chain/franchise hotels/motels in terms of character. Rear of the room opens onto a grassy, wooded common area - with a porch just outside the door, with comfortable chairs and a small table - nice touch. Staff are quite cheerful, helpful and efficient. The inn is also quite pet-friendly - another nice touch. Will definitely be back, next time we're in Payson for more than a day trip.
