Situated in the midst of the largest Ponderosa Pine forest in the world, Kohl's Ranch Lodge provides a classic stay in the American West, a mecca of fresh air, moderate temperatures year-round, and activities ranging from trout fishing to naps in creekside hammocks. Sink into an overstuffed leather chair by the riverstone fireplace in the A-Frame Lodge, explore the pine forest on horseback, or take in a few holes on the 9-hole putting course. An exquisitely rustic experience the hotel guests love. Enjoy the heated outdoor pool, whirlpool spa, bocce ball court, par exercise course, sport court, fitness room, children's playground, outdoor BBQ's, sand volleyball court, and S'mores pit. Kohl's Ranch Lodge mountain getaway now has wireless internet so guests can access the web from the comfort of their room and anywhere else on the property.
Welcoming visitors to the Payson are since 1924, Kohl's Ranch Lodge has been, and continues to be, one of the most popular destinations for travelers. The friendly service, casual atmosphere, western hospitality and comfortable, warm, rustic accommodations make each night a vacation in itself. Zane Grey Steakhouse and Saloon offering authentic western cuisine open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Featuring live entertainment in the saloon on Saturday nights. Major credit card or debit cards with the Visa or Master Card logo will be accepted as deposit for all guests. No cash allowed. The deposit will be $250.00 US and shall be returned when the rooms have been inspected and no damage has been done or items are not missing. Nice cabins they have everything!
Very pretty the cabins they are so nice and have everything you need and they are right on the creek. They only thing I would recommend is that you bring food the resturant is not very good.

Perfect Couples Retreat
The lodge was really cozy, it almost felt like we had someone's personal cabin all to ourselves. Staff was friendly. Room was romantic and cabin-chic. And the grounds were rustic and secluded, just what we were looking for! The only thing would be more activities that are included in the experience like hiking or walking trails or options for poor weather. It rained a lot so thank goodness for the Wifi to look up and plan alternative ideas.

relaxing place to spend time
Really a neat place- cabins with jacuzzis, BBQs, looked like a lot of families stayed for weeks at a time. Rooms had cooking capacity and utensils, etc.- you wouldn't need to pack it all in. The restauant and saloon were basic but nice- pool table in the bar was fun. People playing basketball and bocce outside...and the 3 people on staff we spoke to were helpful and friendly. We'd definitely go back and stay for longer next time.

Getaway
Enjoy the lovely cool nights of late summer and do nearby hiking at Horton Creek for a great getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life.

This was one of the most relaxing
This was one of the most relaxing three day vacations we have ever spent. The weather was wonderful, even enjoyed the little rains we got in the afternoons. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The whole experience was one my husband and I will remember until we can get up there again. A great reprieve from the hustle and bustle of the city. Can't recommend the getaway strongly enough. Also loved the rustic feel of the place. Nothing fancy, just down home comfort.

Awesome!
We stayed here for the weekend and were amazed. First of all, on the website, it doesnt look to be children friendly, however, it is! There were alot of families with kids. The staff was VERY friendly and nice. We stayed in the triplex cabins east of the main lodge and it was quiet. We enjoyed our stay very much and will definately be coming back. The only complaint we had was that the walls were VERY thin. Other then that it was perfect!

Unbeatable location for the price
We had such a wonderful time staying at Kohls staff were very accommodating .room was very clean ,we went fishing overall was great trip. looking forward for our very trip to Kohls Ranch lodge it was fantastic highly remendable to my friends and family. thank you Ray.

Weekend Retreat
Weekend getaway from the Mesa AZ area. Able to relax, cool off, and just veg out. Unfortunately there were major restrictions in the forest because of the fire danger but the trip was very enjoyable. The hosts were extremely friendly and made you feel like you were family immediately. Will be back when time permits...
