Good value

The hotel is worth the price, nothing fancy but it does its job. The pool is nice and the lush grass and trees are a big plus! Nice to have a private balcony.

Mosquitos

The room we had was full of mosquitos. They swarmed around every light we turned on. We killed some with our hands . Was not a good experience. Bed clothes were clean but very old. Will not stay there again. The lobby and outside were very nice. Room was not.

notsogreat

We won't stay here again. Made reservations 6 weeks in advance, and then were told when we arrived that they didn't have the room type that we reserved. Isn't that what a reservation is for? Pictures on their website a much nicer than the actual facilities, which are old and worn, badly in need of upgrade. Room wasn't clean.

Bathroom needed a lot of work

the bathroom had black mold around the window and tiles in the shower. Noise from other rooms was constant. Due to being a colder night we turned the heater on and were appalled at the smell that came out into our room and decided to bundle up for the night.

Wish the rooms looked like the outside!

The outside is beautiful around the pool. But the building and rooms are showing wear. Patched walls and ceilings are not sanded, there was mold on our shower tiles and the table and desk had crusted food on them. We were there for four days during which we had to ask for towels on three of the four days. On one of the days my husband's bed was half made and the mattress was pushed a foot off of the frame. My cousins were also there and the sink drain did not work and was never fixed. At breakfast, there were no large plates. When asked if more could be brought out, the attendant said, yes. And when we waited she said, Tomorrow. A little attention to detail, maintenance and supervision would make the place great! However, we were told by many there that things have not changed over the last four years. Why do people come back?Four days was the price of two elsewhere.

Needs a lot of TLC

Wonderful, convenient location. Beautiful, well cared for grounds. Beds comfortable. Good, free wi-fi. Rooms basically clean except for dirty, worn carpet that desperately needs replacing. Furniture was nice when purchased but now is scuffed and scarred. Upon arrival, looked like beds had not been changed. Limited staff to correct problems. Breakfast the same every morning. Main features: tator tots with sausage gravy, waffles, cereal, sweet rolls. Need more protein and some variety from morning to morning. Hotel is better for a short stay than a stay of several days.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

Many reasonably priced restaurants within a short drive of the hotel. Also, there is good shopping especially for those who like antique and/or resale shops.

Maybe

Older hotel that was once a Grand Hotel....big rooms and good amenities. However, bathrooms need caulking lights are not adequate, outlet for dryer not in good place.....they just seem to be milking the place for every cent. Decent breakfast every day, nice attitude from most employees........The price was good and the place was well lit outside. I would probably stay there again.

The staff deserves a better hotel

The staff was friendly & quickly took care of my check-in. Unfortunately, I walked into a room that had stains on the floor, a stale odor and an all around retro (not in a good way) look. I went to call the front desk but the phone in the room didn't work so I used my mobile. The clerk told me there were other rooms that were "much better" so I changed rooms and aside from not having stains on the floor it was the same as the first room. Besides the "ick" factor, something made me feel unsafe about staying by myself in this hotel. Once again the staff was super helpful and didn't charge me at all. I ended up staying in another hotel.

Windemere Hotel

Our experience was terrible. We left the hotel 2 days early because we did not feel comfortable there at ALL. It was creepy! We ended up at the Marriott where we should have gone to in the first place... We would not recommend this place to any one...

Not what I expected

I read the reviews for all the surrounding hotels and chose this one because of the 4 stars from all the reviewers. I think we stayed at different hotels. The room we were in looked outdated and worn. The paint was peeling in the bath room and there were stains on the carpet. The bed was hard as a rock and my husband had the worst night sleep ever!
