Good Value

Old hotel but clean and a very large pool area, a good value. Some room amenities had to be requested, no alarm clock in my room and my brother had no coffee-maker, both were provided upon request. I would stay there again in the future.

Needs updating badly

We booked this hotel for the location to family and the price. The grounds are beautiful and the pool area very nice. The rooms smelled old and smokey even though they were clean, it didn't feel like it and the curtains, linens etc were old too. The continental breakfast was standard/ basic and no fresh fruit or changes. We didn't have the buffet lunch served T,W,Th. The Central IL cubs boosters were there and they were a nice group. The staff was friendly. If they painted, refreshed and brightened up the rooms, this would be a wonderful place to stay for the price.

Was not so bad

After you get past the front facade (which is obviously where they spent all the money) it was a little disappointing. It needs A LOT of work on the outside, especially in the open common areas where you could find everything from a broken refrigerator and ice machine to a toilet plunger, but the pool area was very nice and the rooms were clean and comfortable. However take your own towels for the pool, they give you enough towels for the total of people in your room, and there are no towels in the pool area. Our biggest gripe was that whenever we needed something no one on staff seemed to know how to fix it. Example. The internet was down, we called the desk and were told " The person who can fix that is in in an hour", we had some post cards to mail, and were told" I don't know how to do that, that person works tomorrow" Really, you can't put a stamp on a postcard? The breakfast was okay, but no fresh fruit, which really would have been nice. It was really quiet! We heard nothing even though there are several airports and a busy street near by. Lots of stores and shopping close to this location. We decided we would stay again now that we know what to expect.

Hotel room

My first room stunk of cigarettes, so they moved me to another one. It smelled of a bad air freshener or something. The bathtub had a big crack in the bottom of it, and it pinched the bottom of my foot when I stepped on it. Not happy....

Vacation in Mesa

I recommend this hotel. The price is comparable to other hotels in the area and it seems much more spacious than typical national chain places. Breakfast was very good. Nice hot tub.

OK, but apparently was 5 star at one time.

It was OK. Our room was way in the back of the hotel and quite a distance from the office and breakfast location. Breakfast was good and a nice variety. Chair in our room had thread bare arms. Bathroom needs updating. Nice size room. None of the outside tables and chairs matched and looked like hand me downs. Room was quiet. A/C smelled of cigarette smoke thus filters need cleaning or replacing.

Good value

Room was very big, with a kitchenette. However the fixtures and decor were a bit old and could use some updating. Very nice pool and spa. Relatively close to shopping and restaurants. Overall, good value for the price.

Offered everything we needed

We wanted a hotel that offered room amenities such as a refrigerator, coffee, and microwave. Also, the free breakfast in the lobby was a big plus. The attendent kept everything well stocked and clean even when the area was packed with people. The staff was very friendly and accomodating as well. The furnishings, bathroom and fixtures were a bit dated, but kept very clean and the shower always had good water pressure.
