tired looking decor
Booked this room over 2 months prior to arrival. Arrived at motel close to midnight due to late plane and car rental agency. Front desk clerk was not helpful and very abrupt. Due to age, I had requested a downstairs room and got an upstairs room with no help with luggage. Asked for a late check out as only getting into room after midnight and was told they only had so many they could give in any day and I could not get one. If you are over 30 year old and need any type of assistance - do not stay here as help is not part of their deal.

Men only???
We were in the area to spend Thanksgiving with family. The location was great; and enjoyed the kitchenette in the room with frig, microwave and sink; dishes provided. We were greatly disappointind to not be able to get a WiFi connection in the room, although they advertise that they have it. signal was too poor to be able to connect. Cleaning services are minimal...take out your own garbage; unmake your bed if you want fresh linens; do your own dishes; or PAY for additional services. Also the room was very noisy, both from outside sounds and from the room above us and beside us. You could hear conversations, television, water running, things thumping on the foor, air conditioner unit outside running, etc.

Dream vacation not so dreamy
Exterior beautiful but "suite" not any nice than a $99/night motel room w/o the continental breakfast! NO extras; water, snacks, juice, muffins, cookies, fruit or peppermint candy! First nights "suite" had a leaky bathtub. I had to hold on to shower curtain to prevent a potentially serious fall . The office knew of the problem when they gave us the room and moved us the following day.

Experienced hotel visitor
Barely adequate
The hotel was barely adequate. Our room had a king sized bed that took up 3/4 of the room. The other 1/4 was taken up by a small table by the mini frig and sink. The room has little sound insulation, (easy to hear people talking in next room, and noisy A/C condenser was right outside the window by the bed), bathroom had only one towel bar no place to hang anything other than the bath towels - no place to hang hand towels or wash clothes and no hooks to hang your clothes on. I gave up trying to fill the jacuzzi tub after leaving the faucet on full blast for 40 min. with the water not even reaching the jets. We tried to get our t.v./remote control fixed but gave up after 2 calls and 2 supposed visits by maintenance to fix the problem. No one ever called to check to see if the problem was resolved. Beware no free internet and maid service is every other day. We had to go buy garbage bags since the garbage cans were very small. We were there 6 days. We chose this place only because it was close to where we needed to go. We will try to find another place next time in the same area. The street the hotel was on had eating places, stores and was close to one expressway.

Neighborhood feel
Red Mountain High School Football grandparents who visit from out state will love this place. Friendly and helpful reception. Dinning discounts at the restaurant just across the parking area. If you are fortunate you have views of the mountain and overlook the golf course. We will stay again in the spring for graduation.

Nice room, OK price, poor sleep.
This hotel was the closest to a running race we participated in. We arrived around 7pm and left at 6am so we didn't get to check much of the facilities. The room looked really nice and had a dinette set, a full size coffee machine, a microwave, a corner jacuzzi tub. The TV was basic. The bed and pillows were horrible (lumpy). My wife and I just couldn't get comfortable. It's an easy fix and I would consider going back if they just make that change.

My Mistake Not Checking Amenities 1st
Having stayed in some 100+ hotels/motels over the last 10 years, this was the first one to not offer free internet. I had stopped checking since "they all do". They wanted $9.99 per day! Also, no free breakfast, which most other places offer. Next time I'll check more carefully when booking. Otherwise, the place is pretty nice but I won't be going back.

Go to the MacDonalds down the street for free Wi-Fi. (If you go back a second+ time, you may have to delete your browser history to avoid their pay site redirect on subsequent logins, at least I did).

Looking for a peaceful setting.....
At the Westgate Painted Mountain Golf Resort if you love to play Golf this might just be the spot for you to check out. The Golf course is located just beside half of the Resort. If you are looking to dine in or out their is a resturant with in walking distance from your room. I myself did not care to much for the restaurant. I felt the help was not around to even seat you. I had to go looking for someone. I went on three different occasions to see if maybe things would be better. Not the case though. As far as the check in process it was extremly slow. The young lady at the counter charged more then she was suppost to for the room rate. I had to speak with someone else the next day about this. As far as the check out I feel the help was very good. I even asked for a late check out. Of course there was a fee for that. Overall if you love golf in a nice peaceful setting you should go to Westgate Painted Mountain Golf Resort.
