Dobson Ranch Inn

To spend a quality of time for mother and son. Going out a lot in Scottsdale but staying at hotel to relax by swimming pool in the afternoon. Breakfast was so so - it needs more variable foods to choose. Otherwise it was very nice to stay.

The pictures online were deceiving! The pool is nothing like the picture, although it was clean but there were no towels. Lobby was nice and Spanish like.

The Dobson Ranch Inn was probably very, very nice in it's day but it's now run down and showing it's age. The towels are thin and small. The beds are comfortable but the furnishings are all outdated and showing wear. The pool and spa needed to be cleaned on our first night there, the decking is cracked and peeling. The breakfasts do have hot scrambled eggs, potatoes and a meat along with the standard continental fare but it wasn't anything special or out of the ordinary. The wifi did not work in our room and we were told it was iffy in the entire hotel. We had to go to the office to use the computer. At $88 offseason, you can probably find something a little better.

This hotel is not terrible, but certainly a bit threadbare. The name and the pics of the hotel are much more "resorty" than the place itself. The pool was nice and clean but nothing special. There was a worker painting the railing, so at least the hotel is trying to stay upgraded. My carpet was stained and not fresh looking. The room itself was clean, so that's a plus. The restaurant offers a free breakfast, which is nice, but when I sat down the carpet beneath me was all crumbs from the night before. Even my bench seat had not been wiped down. I'm sure the mess was from the night before because I went to breakfast as soon as they opened. Also, someone had spilled something sticky in front of my door which remained there for the rest of my stay. It's the little detail that in my opinion keep this hotel to a 2.5 rating. Two very positive things about this hotel--very close to the freeway (and a Starbucks across the street) and a powerful/awesome shower. So....bottom line--reasonably clean inside the rooms (except maybe the carpet?) but just okay. Don't expect resort.

Prime location to our needs. A/C unit was the only thing wrong, was very unstable. Will stay there again.

Spent one night here while traveling through the state and were surprised at how nice it was. The room was so clean, pleasantly decorated, comfortable bed, lots of pillows, ample amount of towels and hot water. Really, everything you could ask for in a budget priced room. The staff wasn't overly friendly, but were very helpful, which is the most important thing. My family would happily spend the night here again!

It is definately not what I expected. I thought it was some great place but its a Motel 6 on steroids is all. I didn't see a pool. It s right of the freeway which is great, the front desk was unattended for about 20 minutes when we were trying to check out. Seems the gal was at the buffet getting her Oatmeal. Room was clean and maid service was attentive. Comfy beds. Decent value but my expectations were a bit higher.

over all this hotel was decent. We didn't have any bad experiences.

Decently clean, well maintained grounds. Room was decently clean but our heat was not working well and the maintenance staff could not fix it (uncharacteristically cold in Arizona that week we were there). The restaurant was not open and there was little explanation why. The lounge open sporadically with inconsistent hours (you never knew if it would be open or not). The staff was friendly and helped us with extra blankets to compensate for the heat issues. the pool was clean, heated and well maintained, as was the hot tubs. Overall an average place to stay.

Your firm called the hotel to confirm a late check in, after midnight. The "resort" had some sort of renovations going on in the rooms above us. They were using a power spray washer that started in the early a.m. on the balcony above our room!! WE arrived at 1:30am and they stuck us in this room when there plenty of vacant rooms elsewhere. Called the front desk and the noise stopped for a short while, then they started up again. Went out side to discover the Dobson had placed us DIRRECTLY next door to the room that was being used for the construction shack! Then found someone else's beanie cap on the floor next to my bed. Called the front desk again, they did absolutely nothing. No apology, only "they have to do their work sometime... Poor planning, poor management, poor cleaniness ands NO SLEEP!!! Oh, also there were a round of gun shots about 2:30 in the neighborhood too. Lousy location. lousy hotel.....
