Good base for exploring south of Tucson

Nice, comfortable room. Excellent shower, air conditioning. Excellent complimentary breakfast buffet. Only oddity is that the hotel is on the edge of a developed area. Just beyond is total bush, which felt weird.

Enjoyable

My experience at Canoa Ranch was great! The rooms are tidy and well kept. I also enjoyed the extra amenities such as the fireplace and firepit near the hot tub and pool on the cool, yet enjoyable evenings. Also, the exercise room and spa were very much appreciated.

Weekend Away

Overall experience at this hotel went well! I thought the resort was very pretty and the rooms were kept very nice and clean. The only bad feedback I would have to give would be the service at the restaurant across the way. I believe they are apart of the same resort, but I was really disappointed with the waitresses. They were not very attentive, and when my boyfriend went to pick up breakfast, he told me he saw them chit chatting for a while before he was even helped. We had recommended the hotel to a friend, and they had the same complaint when they got food at the restaurant. Aside to that, our stay was very nice!

Perfect for Reading & Relaxing

(8.31.11) Staff was friendly. I went to just relax and finish up reading several books I started at the beginning of the year. Nice and quite; however, if you're looking for a "family getaway", this isn't it. The property is a combination of Wyndam/retirement resort style living. So again...perfect for what I needed. The property has a nice outdoor lounge/pool area and spa (didn't visit spa, restaurant and golf/clubhouse). Each room is very spacious with nice size balcony, huge walk-in closet, nice size on suite (bathroom) and comfy king size bed. The property is located half way between Tucson and Nogales, Mexico so if you want Tucson night-life, this is not the location for you. For me...I'll go back again, just to relax.

This property is 20 minutes south of Tucson, so there is no Night Life...only breathtaking sunsets, mountain views and star gazing. No noise.

Disappointing

This place was very disappointing. On the outside things look great and the price is more than fair. Unfortunately you truly you get what you pay for. On the positive side the staff was very nice. That's it for the good. Now the bad. The place is built very cheaply so the walls are paper thin. You hear everything from the hallways and the next room. The room I had was oddly shaped and faced inwards towards a very small atrium. Basically you face everyone's else's room. Unless you keep the curtains closed you have no privacy. It's also the first room I've ever been in where you have to walk thru the closet to get into the bathroom! Next, the A/C unit which kicks on every ten minutes is so loud you can't hear the TV or even talk on the phone. It woke me up several times during the night. It literally sounds like a vacuum cleaner in your room. I complained and all they said was they were aware of the problem and "management" was going to replace the units in the future. Great but not soon enough. I was on business so I needed a computer connection. There is no in-room wifi but there is cable access....on the nightstand on the other side of the room from the desk. Who dreamed that up? Finally, I should have known something was odd since the hotel charged me the full amount of my stay two days before I even checked in. Needless to say I won't be back....ever! If you REALLY want to stay here pay more to upgrade to a full suite and good luck.

We love the one bedroom suites. The kitchen and living room is a wonderful addition to the normal room one usually gets at a hotel. Pool and spa were great and staff was very friendly.
