Dont stay in the main building get the suites !
I stayed here before, about two years ago and had a blast. I went with my girlfriend, got a 1 bed type room and it was amazing. This time I stayed with my little brother, so we needed two beds, well there are only this type of room in the main building. The experience changed. The building accross the street is for couples, is quiet and much nicer. The main building was noisy, not as clean and not as nice. Overall still OK.

Excellent for an overnight stop at the Canyon
Great value at a location close to the Canyon. Neat and tidy. Staff was exremely friendly and helpful. Free breakfast was a plus as there are not a lot of choices for breakfast that close to the Canyon.

Great hotel near Grand Canyon
We planned a last minute trip to the Grand Canyon and, of course, all of the lodging inside the park was booked. We found this Holiday Inn Express in Tusayan, just south of the South Rim park entrance. As far as location, it doesn't get any better if you are staying in a hotel. It's close enough to the park to come back for an afternoon nap (for our 2 year old) and not lose a lot of time traveling. The room was clean and a standard size. The morning breakfast is fantastic. The breakfast area is large and can accommodate a lot of guests at once. The food selection is large. There are hotel staff dedicated just to the area so it is clean and well-stocked. I would recommend the hotel and, if we can't stay in the park, we'll book again here.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
Sophie's Mexican Kitchen has a vegetarian menu and has the best vegetarian burrito I've ever had. The prices are tourist town prices but it's the same you would pay anywhere else in town.

Long walk from hotel
STAY AWAY FROM SOPHIES MEXICAN RESTAURANT. WE SPENT 45 MINUTES WAITING TO BE SEATED AND THEN NOBODY EVER CAME TO TAKE OUR ORDER, SO WE JUST LEFT AND NOBODY CARED.
