Great hotel near Grand Canyon

We planned a last minute trip to the Grand Canyon and, of course, all of the lodging inside the park was booked. We found this Holiday Inn Express in Tusayan, just south of the South Rim park entrance. As far as location, it doesn't get any better if you are staying in a hotel. It's close enough to the park to come back for an afternoon nap (for our 2 year old) and not lose a lot of time traveling. The room was clean and a standard size. The morning breakfast is fantastic. The breakfast area is large and can accommodate a lot of guests at once. The food selection is large. There are hotel staff dedicated just to the area so it is clean and well-stocked. I would recommend the hotel and, if we can't stay in the park, we'll book again here.

Sophie's Mexican Kitchen has a vegetarian menu and has the best vegetarian burrito I've ever had. The prices are tourist town prices but it's the same you would pay anywhere else in town.

STAY AWAY FROM SOPHIES MEXICAN RESTAURANT. WE SPENT 45 MINUTES WAITING TO BE SEATED AND THEN NOBODY EVER CAME TO TAKE OUR ORDER, SO WE JUST LEFT AND NOBODY CARED.

Grand Canyon Trip

The location of this hotel is very convenient because is close to the main entrance of Grand Canyon National Park, restaurants and stores. The suite room was clean and comfortable. The bed was really comfortable with clean linens. The hotel employees were very friendly and always were ready for any request. The quality of food served during breakfast was fresh and really convenient for someone that would spend the entire day hiking in Grand Canyon.

Good Value Stay

Conveniently located, well maintained clean room. Breakfast food choice can be improved, but can't complain too much, since it's free.

November stay at GC

Staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was pretty basic but fairly clean. The heater was extremely noisy making sleep difficult but the staff did discount our room rate to compensate for our inconvenience. The location is very close to the entrance to Grand Canyon National Park making it a convenient place to stay. Pretty decent value overall.

Great Location

The location is just a few miles from entering the Grand Canyon National Park (ideal if you are an early morning hiker). The continental breakfast is loaded with all the elements for a pre-hike breakfast (and some). Would stay again!

9 Day Arizona Excursion

We only stayed at this Hotel because of availability of rooms that fit our itenarary. Having stayed in 9 other Hotels during our trip to and around AZ this one was number 8 in rating. I will say the room was clean and the staff reasonably friendly. I know we paid a premium price for location but the room should have had a micro/frig and the internet access was hit and miss at best.
