A lovely suprise! Just wonderful!
We initially booked this hotel because Las Vegas was full, well the decent hotels anyway. After a long day driving to the Grand Canyon we were stoked to see The Holiday Inn Express & Suites was in a prime location near the entrance to the Canyon. We staying in a king suite. It was impeccably clean, just as I had read in other reviews but of course one is always keen to see this with their own eyes. Fantastic television and channel option. The bedding on the sheets was new and modern. I can't stand the usual blanket and duvet that never looks like it is washed! The bed itself was so comfortable, in fact the best bed so far on our trip through the States. To top off a perfect stay we got up for the free breakfast expecting tea and toast (we would have been happy with that). Instead we were greeted by a lovely lady Tammy who prepares the food and it was an array of different choices from bagels, pancakes, cereals/oatmeal, yogurt, bacon, omelettes, hot cinnamon buns, fresh bananas, fresh oranges, hard boiled eggs, biscuits (scones), gravy, juices, English muffins, toast, teas, hot chocolate and coffee, and spreads galore! Delicious apple jelly! It really made our stay. The only reason I didn't give full points for Ammenities is because they don't have laundry faculties on the premises but there is one next door. We will be back though because it was a wonderful and satisfying experience.

Bearizona. We saw three baby black bears at 2 1/2 months old. Along with lots of "toddlers" it was a life changing experience. All the bears have bean rescued at some point from zoos, humans or other situations. I can't stand the usual zoo environment of the run of the mill animal park. This sits alone away from the stereotypical park and we loved it!

Once ina life time!
The staff was helpful and friendly, the breakfast had variety and the rooms were very clean and oh so comfortable. Slept extremely well and was rested fro another day at the canyon. The convenient complimentary breakfast and close proximity to the park made it the perfect vacation stay.

Looking for a fair deal
ok but could have been better
One of the counter staff when we checked in wasn't all that helpful or friendly however on the checkout the gentleman was very good. Room was basic but clean & ok however the bed mattress was very soft so not good for a pour back, so I mentioned this to the clerk on the checkout & he said he would have it checked. Breakfast was the best part of the stay as had good hot selection & lots of variety of things to eat. You certainly pay a price for staying close to the Grand Canyon.

Dont stay in the main building get the suites !
I stayed here before, about two years ago and had a blast. I went with my girlfriend, got a 1 bed type room and it was amazing. This time I stayed with my little brother, so we needed two beds, well there are only this type of room in the main building. The experience changed. The building accross the street is for couples, is quiet and much nicer. The main building was noisy, not as clean and not as nice. Overall still OK.

Excellent for an overnight stop at the Canyon
Great value at a location close to the Canyon. Neat and tidy. Staff was exremely friendly and helpful. Free breakfast was a plus as there are not a lot of choices for breakfast that close to the Canyon.
