Good location compromise

I spent the night in this hotel after driving from Los Angeles to the Canyon and needing to rest before going back home the next day. The location is perfect, as it's just a few miles outside the park, but still in Tusayan, where there are a few restaurants, visitor centers, shopping areas. The only better location is right inside the park. The room was clean and comfortable, wifi had strong signal, TV was great, there even was a fridge with a freezer shelf, which was great for me, as I needed to keep some food cold for the following day trip. Only downside for me was the mattress, which was too soft, and the noise coming from the corridor (hikers wake up at 5 am and the rooms are not well isolated). Breakfast was ok, nothing out of the ordinary. Overall a pretty nice hotel in a great location. I recommend it.

Nice room, ho-hum staff, taxed WiFi

The room was nice enough, but the front desk staff was downright unfriendly - like department-of-motor-vehicles unfriendly. Loved the whisper-quiet AC system in the room, but no fridge. The WiFi system was so slow as to be unusable. The breakfast was average.

Not worth the money

Check in was smooth despite the fact the lobby was full of people trying to check in. Who knew the Thanksgiving weekend would be such a popular time to see the Grand Canyon? There was no light in my bathroom. I just dealt with it and left the bathroom door open when I was in there. Room was okay, but there was absolutely nothing about it that justified the price. Actually, I think the place could use a facelift. Its all about the location I guess. I didn't see any better deals in the area. If I had to do it again, I would drive further away to get a better deal. Free breakfast helped to ease the pain in my wallet, although the selection was not that great. The only fruit I saw were some green bananas.

Conveniently located.

I stayed this hotel for one night in the middle of Feb. The room is clean and larger than I expected. Good access to grand canyon south rim, just around 15 minutes drive to visitor center or mather point. Also complimentary breakfast was available from 6:30am until 9:30am. I think good services for this price. I really recommend this hotel in the lower season. Because in the high season, it would take longer to get to the visitor center....

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Wendy's and restaurant are a few minutes's walk from the hotel. Also Macdonald is across the street.
