BEST WESTERN PLUS Phoenix Goodyear Inn

The hotel needs a bit of sprucing up. My room was clean except for the carpeting. Carpeting needs a good cleaning. From the outside, the first floor rooms looked shabby. The curtains were disheveled and many of the bar locks on the sliding doors looked broken. The sliding doors could use a washing. As the hotel is exclusively non-smoking many of the first floor guests moved the chairs from the rooms to the courtyard and sat outside drinking (not sure what they were drinking--in the morning it was coffee) and smoking. Doesn't give the hotel a comfortable look. I was traveling alone and was not pleased with the little chain lock for security. I never felt very secure. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. They are the shining stars of this hotel! The refrigerator and microwave were good addtions. The breakfast was wonderful and the newspaper a nice touch. The hotel is located south of Interstate 10. Other hotels are a bit north of 10. Although a short distance away the neighorhood north of 10 appears to be a nicer location closer to more reasaurants and shopping within walking distance. I chose the Best Western as it was given a higher rating than the other hotels in the area. I would not stay there again..

My son and I were there for spring training. The location was perfect for the games that we attended. It is a no frills hotel. The staff were excellent, very friendly and very appreciative. The hotel clearly met our needs and could be recommended for that quick spring training trip. It is not a luxorious hotel or one with lots of amenities.

Overall my stay was okay. I wanted to visit a school in Avondale. I called before flying to Arizona to confirm a ride from the hotel to UTI. I was told by the staff they weren't able to accomidate what they agreed with, with the school. So going there I had a bad taste in my mouth about the inn. Then when I got there it was a whole different story. I thought that was a good thing until the story changed several times. The staff didn't know what they were doing. Next time ill stay somewhere other than a best western.

From beginning to the end of my trip, kudos to the housekeeping staff who left a light on in the room each day/night. It was a welcoming sight to open the door, see a light on and know I was safe. Breakfast servers were cheerful, friendly and went out of their ways to serve guests. Enjoyed talking back and forth with them.

Good one, near by, shops and restaurants, access to main highway

Our weekend was too too short , would have loved to stay longer.....

I stayed here to take my MCAT at a nearby testing facility. The staff were friendly and very helpful with getting around the area. My room was spacious with two desks for me to use for my studies, a comfortable bed, coffee maker, refrigerator and microwave, and free wifi throughout the hotel. I really enjoyed the breakfast which was well stocked with cereals, oatmeal, various toastable breads, make yourself waffles, juices, and eggs. Each room had air conditioning for comfort, and my room was near the pool which was nice to sit by after my exam.

Very clean room. All appliances needed were available. The fridge needs to be replaced. The gym is clean and there is enough room for my taste. There is a game room and a hub and pub dinning area Open till late nite.
