Good basic hotel

I chose this hotel partly because I was a student at Thunderbird Grad School over 20 years ago, and it was nostalgia. Also all the hotels near the football stadium were sold out. The room was nice, large and somewhat updated. Huge closet - no idea why there's that much space, except perhaps leftover from when the building was dorms back in the day. Bathroom also large. Comfy beds, although the blankets were too heavy - we were too cold without them and too warm with them (Seems that's pretty common in hotels these days.) Coffee in the room was decent too. No place to eat around there, except the school's pub, and I think the cafeteria? We didn't stick around to learn though and ate dinner at a restaurant a few miles away. This hotel is definitely geared more toward weekday business conference type guests.

College Campus Hotel

The hotel was nice. It was on a college campus. There was not good parking and It was not signed properly. I felt that there could have been more lights outside and bigger signs to guide you around. The staff was great and friendly. The price was great. Overall I would recommend.

An awesome family getaway!!

The Thunderbird Inn was very nice and clean. Felt very safe to let my child and his friends play on the grass and roam around the Inn. I will come back for next year for spring training.

Great place to stay

This was our second year to stay here. We come to Glendale for White Sox Spring Training. The Thunderbird Inn is located on a college campus, so it is nicely set back from the street, making it much quieter than many hotels. Parking is sometimes limited but we didn't have any problems this year. One of the nicest features is the computer/snack room. They set out coffee, tea, cold drinks, snacks, cereals and fruit. People come from all over the world for the college classes and people come for spring training. It is nice to chat with people over breakfast in the morning or have a snack at the end of the day, check e-mails and listen to others'adventures of the day. Quiet, clean and pleasant, we will be back next year.

Difficult to find, Parking required long hike to room. Room temperature was around 80. Only way to cool off room was to lkeave door open so we slept half the night with the door open

Wonderful place to stay

We stayed here when we came for the BCS Championship game. Great location, about 10-15 minutes from the stadium. Close to stores and shopping. Quick access to freeways that get you around the Phoenix area. Rooms were clean and beds very comfortable. Huge workout room with lots of weights/elipticals/bicycles/running machines. The food/beverage area was available 24/7 with snacks/drinks. A hot chocolate tasted/felt so good after coming in late from the cold desert night.

Time-saving tip: Not Applicable

Having a gps helped us immensely to get around town, but we learned that the shortest distance on the gps was not always the fastest. Getting onto 101 loop will save you lots of time if you have that option.
