Comfortable motel with good buffet breakfast

We spent two nights here in late February and had a comfortable stay. Nothing fancy, outdoor corridors, but noise was kept to a minimum except for train noise - and it's a busy track. The room was clean, the heater worked well and hot water was plentiful for showers. The staff were pleasant, especially the gentleman who runs the breakfast and social hour. Speaking of which, the breakfast was good, with quick hot waffles cooked to order, scrambled eggs, potatoes and some kind of meat (either ham or sausage while we were there). Also toast, cereal and yogurt. The social hour had nice cold beer or wine, with just chips and salsa for a snack, but it was nice to have a complimentary drink or two. The bed was too soft for me, and the refrigerator was tiny, but all in all, a nice stay for the money. Would recommend for a couple of nights in Flagstaff if you don't need luxury.

value for one night stay

Good for a night when just traveling through. Worst thing that hotel needs to change is that the drapes do not shut so you just have the sheer curtain - NOT GOOD esp on a first floor! We used the hangers with clips to hold them closed.

We booked this hotel after seeing the room photos online and the cheap price. Our room was nothing like the photos, extremely miss leading. The room sucked but its cheap and they have a hot tub.

Convenient stop

The hotel is well and conveniently situated; the trains passing often across the street are no problem since they do not sound their horns. This property is tired; it is long overdue a major makeover. Still, it is clean, the staff are cordial and helpful, and the amenities (happy hour and breakfast) though simple are free flowing. It is a good value, however, if one is not that choosey. Under the same circumstances in the future (it was a waystop on the way from Tucson the the Grand Canyon) I would probably opt to stay there again.

Grand Canyon Getaway

Check in/out was easy with a very helpful staff. The room was ok, but needed a touch up, however, nothing unbearable. The restaurant next door was for breakfast only and a Happy Hour starting at 5:00 p.m. The pool was nice, but nothing fancy. They had a spa and jacuzzi which I did not use. I thought the photograph of the hotel, which I used to determine if I would stay there, really was well shot, but did not show the true character of the facade. The hotel was a short walk to downtown Flagstaff. I dined at two of the local breweries, which I found very nice. However, Flagstaff does not wake up before 07:00 a.m. for breakfast and most of the shops did not open until 09:00 a.m. If you are simply looking for a place to stay and sleep the hotel will do fine, but it is not a hotel with a lot of amenities. I thought it a bit over priced, but within my budget.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

Old Flagstaff is just a short walk away where you can see the sights.

Route 66 charm but otherwise SO-SO

The location of this hotel is very central. It's an older hotel on Route 66, which gives it character. Good breakfast. Somewhat tired looking.
