Older hotel but location is great

We stayed there in the summer of 2014. Staff service is pretty good. The breakfast is decent. The hotel shows sign of aging in the rooms - smell of old wood. Plenty of parking available.

Looked forward to breakfast

I enjoyed the helpful staff. Though the waffle maker was straight forward as to directions, the lovely attendant would greet you each morning with a scrumptious warm waffle if requested. The little touches of staff made the busy highway and thin walls more comfortable.

Quick stop near NAU

The hotel was close to NAU and had a good buffet breakfast. The room was clean but really outdated. Not sure if we got an outdated room because we arrived late or if all the rooms were the same. Website pictures were a little deceiving compared to our room. Overall, the hotel was clean and the bed was comfortable. Staff was really nice.

awesome family triip

Awesome family trip, stopped on our way to Disneyland. The room was efficient for our stay and the snack bar was great. We laid by the pool, explored the town and thoroughly enjoyed our entire stay.

sleepless night

We had 2 rooms for 4 people. The TV had only 1 program. (It was fixed within an hour.) We asked for quiet rooms so we got rooms on the second floor. The AC in the room below was like a rotor of a helicopter. The train did not whistle but one could hear the trains close by all night long (that's a problem in Flagstaff so the location of the hotel is important). At 2AM very drunken hotel guests made noise outside their room, talked loud and sang. They continued this noise inside their room for another half hour and we could hear everything upstairs. We had little sleep and this spoiled our next day. Before we checked in we had considered staying one more night. After this bad experience we did not want to stay another minute.

Weird blanket philosophy, no gym/pool/spa as advertised

The hotel is actually a motel, which was not stated clearly anywhere. I would not have booked the place had I know this previously - I'm guessing the owners knew this as well and chose to hide the fact. When I arrived, we were given a room that had a queen bed even though we had specifically booked a king. They claimed that this was a king bed. The room had a single blanket, not a comforter. The temperature at night in Flagstaff is freezing. The heater was in a separate room - almost like a living room - instead of being in the bedroom. When we asked for a comforter, we were given a slightly thicker blanket which looked like it had been chewed through by rodents. We obviously decided not to use it. I inquired about the gym as I wanted to use their treadmill. They allegedly are renovating that area and so told me that it's not in service. Additionally, the spa that they advertised was also not in service for the same reason. The pool, another advertised amenity, was NOT open because of weather.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

Go to Pizzicleta for dinner. Really great place and they make their pizzas FAST. They use a specific oven that cooks them in 60-90 seconds.
