dreadful place

location is bad, next to trains, difficult to access. Access to rooms very bad, specially with a bad knee. terrible steps. door key didn't work second time, had to walk back to reception(other guests had the same problem). Room had two lights out, staff said was maintenance problem, so room very dark, couldn't see in room. Had been upgraded to Presidential room (with jacuzzi) but jacuzzi didn't work. Place should be knocked down. Past it's use by date.

A great pit stop in Flagstaff, AZ

The location is ideal since it's right off of all of the main freeways that are merged through the center of town, it is a few minutes from the university, and there is a gas station and grocery store a block away. The free breakfast was very decent they had all the yogurts, cereals, toast, eggs, ham, oatmeal, juices, hot chocolate, and for the waffles they had a guy actually manning the irons taking waffle requests and then he would bring it to your table with the syrup bottle and then went around cleaning up people's trash too. Breakfast was all served in a cafe that's separate from the hotel but right there in the parking lot so there was plenty of space we didn't feel crowded in there. There is also a social hour in the evening where they serve a free drink to all the guests at the same cafe. We stayed on a weekend. We requested a few extra blankets from the front desk because we had little ones with us and they brought them to the room right away. The HVAC worked fine as did all the other facilities in the room. The hotel overall is dated. Of course we wish we could get a little bit cheaper price, but when compared with other hotels in the area this seemed like best option. We booked online so we had no interaction with the staff before hand but the reservation was all squared away upon arrival and there were no issues. Front desk was super friendly. There was a hornet or something that buzzed us a few times in the parking lot, and then another that flew in our room while we were loading bags that scared my 4 year old daughter half to death. The TV worked fine, internet worked fine. We visited to watch the NAU graduation ceremony at the sky dome. There is a train a couple hundred feet from the hotel, but it didn't bother us at all at night while sleeping.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

The Flagstaff old town district is a bit to the west of the hotel and its fun to check out day or night. At night on the weekend of our stay it was fun to walk the streets and visit the shops.

Pricey and Noisy

The first room we were sent to was a smoking room, but the friendly front desk got us switched to non-smoking right away. Both the pool and the jacuzzi were out of order. It's only a 30 minute drive to Sedona, so location is convenient. However, it's right by the busy street and loud trucks are constantly driving by and the floors above squeak loudly when walked on. You can also hear everyone flushing their toilets and turning on their showers... Along with other activities, if ya know what I'm saying ;/ The breakfast was decent but there wasnt any fruit or healthy options to choose from and the milk for the cereal was sour also. If the hotel was cheaper I wouldnt be complaining so much. But if I'm spending $100 for a Sunday night in a town like flag, I shouldn't be given so much to complain about. If you don't have any other options then maybe I would suggest this hotel, otherwise stay anywhere else you can.

Alright for a night

Great hotel for a few nights - clean, friendly staff, breakfast was good (waffles cooked on request). Curtains can't be closed, so little privacy - bring a safety pin or two to hold them shut...

Wonderful Staff

We normally stay at a Hilton or similar. At check-in I was greeted promptly and when I asked a simple question about the difference in rooms, I was upgraded at no charge so I could see the comfort. I loved the fact that every evening they had a social. We received two free alcohol beverages and the continental breakfast was anything but. It was amazing! Full on breakfast with sausage, egss, potatoes, waffles, yogert, cereal, and a few other things. I am willing to stay here on every trip to Flagstaff, Williams, and nearby towns. They were great to my kids!
