Perfect spot for Grand Canyon Getaway

The hotel was actually very good, but we unfortunately landed up with a smoking room. We had requested a non-smoking room but since the hotel was full we could not change. Not sure where the mixup happened - during booking with [...]or [...]booking with the hotel.

A solid choice in Flagstaff

Staff at Embassy Suites was especially gracious and helpful at all times. They are youthful, but poised and professional. From the front desk to the Manager's Reception to the cooked-to-order breakfast they were unflailing solid. Location is close to downtown without being RIGHT downtown next to the Santa Fe Rwy (now BNSF). The 100 trains a day are too close to almost every other hotel/motel/lodge in Flagstaff save the Embassy Suites. I LOVE trains, but want to be a bit away for sleeping. The EB has updated with flatscreens throughout the hotel, although the image did not appear to be HD quality. Still it was fine. Rooms have refrigerators as well as a wet bar-SOP for most Embassy Suites. One of the nicest touches was the front desk asked for my HiltonHonors information so I could rack up points. [...].Lots of Europeans here and a very cosmopolitan atmosphere for a small town. Easy treks to Grand Canyon, Petrified Forest, Walnut Canyon, and even Sedona from this location. Very ideal.

Dining tip: Long walk from hotel

Pasto in old downtown is a wonderful Italian choice. Make sure to ask to sit on the delightful patio. Good wine list and fine service and casual. For less ethnic fanfare, one could walk less to Beaver Street Pizza. Lots of good food plus microbrews. Both walks through NAU campus are quiet and avoid Rte. 66. Easy walk to the Amtrak station too!

Terrific Hotel

The hotel's complimentary made to order breakfasts were terrific in terms of choice and service, and the dining area was able to handle all the visitors comfortably. The complimentary manager's cocktail hour was also appreciated. The suites offer room to stretch out and enjoy the stay. The outdoor pool is located in the hotel's courtyard, therefore it is very secluded, quiet, and private, surrounded by Ponderosa Pines. The location is within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants of Flagstaff's Old Town (downtown), or a very quick drive. All in all, we were very pleased with the hotel and its services.

Leaving NAU

Came to Flagstaff to move our daughter out of NAU dorms for the summer and loved this hotel for the great price. Breakfast was like ordering it from a real restaurant. Loved the Happy Hour mixed drinks. Nice way to relax!

Eat at Oreganos. Totally worth the wait and the meals are big enough for two to share!

Friendly Staff, Outdated Rooms

Great Location for NAU, smack in the middle of Chain Restaurant Row...hotel lobby, bar, restaurant, elevators and rooms all have an outdated feel...one imagines that the owners know they need to update the hotel, so they've chosen to spend the money on the Flat-screen TV's, and the carpets down the hallways...all very nice, but money that could have been better spent on better bedding and comforters and pillows and towels and sheets...you know, the things that you stay in a hotel for...renovating the bathrooms and lighting would also be a nice item to add to the owner's capital-spend to-do list... The breakfast was average but definitely convenient...with a few newer hotels coming to town, Embassy Suites will no doubt have to invest some profits back into this unit...sooner than later...
