Expensive getaway

Santa Fe style getaway with nice pools and comfortable casitas. Not a posh city style hotel of that's what you want look elsewhere. Personally did not feel accommodations justified price even though we were upgraded to a casita .

Golf Carts!

Top Notch Customer Service, all staff that assisted us were amazing and refused tips. The hotel is on beautiful spacious piece of land. Parking is either self- or valet but have to use a shuttle and golf carts to get to and from room if you are not a walker. I had recent knee injury and walked some but promise you the golf cart rides are so amazingly fun that I was happy to pretend pain to partake more often. My 2 year old refused to get out several times once reaching our room. Room service food is "ok" except chocolate mousse cake which was like ambrosia and indescribably delicious.

The Boulders is Beautiful

If you're looking for a wonderful experience in a beautiful setting the Boulders is perfect. I had been told it was lovely and it is honestly one of those places you have to experience in person. I stayed in a casita about a 3 minute walk from the main lodge and pool. I went in July, so it was off season. The place wasn't slammed with people so it was great.

Weekend stay with friends

My husband & i had an excellant stay. The staff was very friendly & accomadating. When we travel we bring our dog & we were glad it was a pet friendly resort. Our friends enjoyed the stay also & were very impressed with the service & the resort. There's a beautiful golf course.

Nightlife tip: Short drive from hotel

We took a cab to cave creek, just a couple miles down the street to Buffalo Chip. They have live bull riding on Friday nights, outdoor seating & patio. They also have bands inside & dance floor. Hogs & Horses also has outdoor patios with bar, rooftop searing with bar & also a coral with horse riding events going on. If you are not into partying cave creek has a lot of shops & restaurants.

nothing to write home about

The room was clean and spacious. The pools were not very clean! Food mediocre. Staff very friendly. Spa treatments average. In a nut shell, it was fine but would not recommend to a friend.

Wonderful Resort, would go again

Casitas: Our room was very nice. It was great having a fire place that they cleaned and restocked the wood each day. The patio was a nice place to relax and watch the birds and rabbits. Housekeeping was a little spotty. One day they didn’t come, one day they didn’t leave enough hand towels. The refrigerator wasn’t very cold. Staff: All the staff was great, happy to assist and very customer service oriented. When we called for our car it was waiting for us when we walked up a few minutes later. The concierges were great. Ground: the grounds were kept very clean. The walking paths were very nice and we walked everywhere. We hiked the boulder trail. Golf: The golf course was in excellent shape, very well kept and beautiful. (As a comparison we golfed near by at TPC and the course really needed work.) The staff was great there too. We ate several times at the Golf course restaurant and thought it had the best food and menu choices as compared to the spa and lodge. As an example the fruit plate at the Golf course was fantastic but the one at the spa was sorely lacking. The ribs were fantastic. Spa: The spa was nice, we had a good massage. There was no entrance charge. It was nice that we could attend any of the many different classes they had there for no extra charge. We did the Golf Stretch with Judy and she was a great leader. Again, the food/menu at the spa café could have been better. Over all we enjoyed it and would recommend the Boulders and would go there again.

relaxing vacation

my wife and I booked a long weekend at the boulders resort. although the golf looked fantastic, we didn't golf. instead, we were looking for a resort with a relaxing atmosphere, where we could enjoy some spa, jogging, hiking, mountain biking, and get a taste of arizonas landscape. The boulders resort was perfect for this. The rooms (casitas) were nestled in amongst the incredible landscape, and gave a real feel of Arizona style. we really enjoyed the wood fireplaces in the rooms, and the supplied juniper firewood was first rate. the staff and service as good as it gets.

Entertainment tip: Not Applicable

we debated between a rental car and a taxi, and luckily chose to rent a car. this hotel is quite a way north of the airport, and would be pretty expensive to get to by taxi. cave creek is close by with food, shopping, hiking, but a car is needed to really enjoy it.

fantastic family getaway

Absolutely marvelous experience. From the time we arrived, until we departed, the staff was courteous, helpful, pleasant, and made our stay a magnificent experience. The room was large and comfortable, and the bed was one of the best I've experienced. Will definitely return to the Boulders.

Relaxing desert vacation

The Boulders is an amazing place to stay. The scenery is spectacular and everyone who works there was very friendly. We went during the middle of May, which they said was their slow season, so everything was nice and quiet. The pools and restaurants were never too crowded. Also, the guests were mostly adults, very few children. We did the horseback riding and a short hike in the Cave Creek Regional Park, which is just a few minutes from the place. We also did an ATV ride through the desert and rented a jet ski at Lake Pleasant, both activities are only about 30 minutes from The Boulders. This was one of the best vacations we have been on.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

We found out the last night we were there about some great restaurants in the towns of Carefree and Cave Creek which are just a few minutes down the road.
