West Memphis hotel ideally located for road trippers
Howard Johnson West Memphis offers basic lodgings close to Graceland and other Memphis attractions. The 84 rooms provide a good overnight stop for travelers going along I-40 and I-50. Complimentary amenities include continental breakfast, Wi-Fi Internet access, local telephone calls, and daily newspaper. Location on service road provides easy access to Wal-Mart and other stores.

I wouldn't if I were you!
I'm not real fussy when it comes to inexpensive hotels; you get what you pay for. But this place was off the scale. Peeling wallpaper, rust around the door hinges, and a bath tub that looked bad. The topper was the desk chair that had a stain on it that looked like some one(s) sat on it while doing one of two things neither of which I wanted to visualize. I turned back the bedspread and blanket and only sat on the sheets which I figured were clean. I only touched the floor with my shoes on.

Sketchy
The lobby and check in area were very pretty, but the rest of the hotel was not taken care of at all. Staff wasn't very friendly, signs needed to be updated (signs pointed to a ice machine on the first floor, but there wasn't any-- only on the 2nd floor). We were there for two nights during our road trip. I would not recommend.

Blue Monkey in Memphis was a young-crowd bar with live music. It was fun to go hang out. Drinks were reasonably priced (long island ice tea was $8)

Never Again
This hotel managed to screw up 2 of our 3 rooms, putting us into rooms already assigned to other guests. One guest came back at 2:15 a.m. to find that their door was locked. Management called our room, woke us up, then sent the GUEST to our room to get their stuff from the drawers instead of coming down to do it themselves. Keep in mind we had 3 women in one room, and a strange man came to our room at 2:30 a.m. to get the bags. The third of our 3 rooms had the door open and all the lights on when we got there. Bugs were everywhere. This hotel experience was the worst I've had in my life!!!

Really?
Requested a queen with microwave and fridge. When checked in, air conditioner was barely cold. (It's July with highs in the 90's)! Did someone check the air when cleaning the room? Advised hotel clerk and only room available was a king smoking room. :-( Cough Cough. We took it. Room phone did not work, it had no information on it. Just a shell of a phone. Advised front desk but due to being booked, we were unable to change rooms. Air was great, so we made it work. In the future, please have all amenities in working order or put room out of order. Staff was friendly. A lot of restaurants and gas stations near by. Right off I-40 and I-55. Was there to visit Memphis, TN & Tunica, MS. Had a great time.

Beale St traveler
Good Bad Ugly
Price was great. Location good. WIFI Internet I do not think they have it at all. Yes they said "We are working on it" but after a three day stay and not only do you not have it you do not even know when.Thats the bad now for the ugly. Raw sewage right outside of my room door. Told hotel staff,still there when I left.There was toilet paper,urine,and yes ship all over the parking lot right outside my door.No I would not recommend this place unless they fixed the sewer.

the convenient, the reasonable, the need
Convenient to meetings and near Memphis for me, safe area,very reasonable, no hassel with staff. Bath room tub and shower curtains needed to be cleaner. You need shower shoes in tub to take shower. Never could take tub bath(not clean enough).No pool.

unbeatable location for the price
This hotel was reasonably priced in a good and safe location. This property has several restaurants, convenient stores, clothing stores including Walmart less than a mile away. The rooms were nice & clean at a low price.

This is not a clean hotel. Noise is bad at night. Room had an odor.
