New & Clean, but...
This is a new place and it is clean! Those 2 items do go a long way! But... we got there and they had no idea we had a reservation. Their fault or Orbtiz's, I don't know. We did get a room just fine. The room was spacious and tastefully decorated. The staff was just fine. The TV got fewer than 30 channels! And we ended up unplugging the fridge in the middle of the night because it made so much noise when it cycled on! Not exactly what I had hoped for... but at least it was clean and new.

Bad back? Stay elsewhere!
My fiance, niece & I went on a short road trip and stayed in Memphis for a couple of nights. We first checked into this hotel. We arrived at 1130pm, checked in and went straight to our room. The area seemed safe but you had to work a little to get in and out of the place. Upon first inspection the room appeared clean and everything seemed to work correctly but then we sat on the beds. If you have a bad back this is NOT the place for you. We could feel EVERY spring in the mattresses. I immediately decided (with my back history) to either have the manager move us to another room or check out as I couldn't afford to have my back out for several days. I first called the manager and explained the situation. He said they had never had anyone complain about the mattress before. I find that hard to believe! Even my 17 yr old niece was complaining (who is one of the most easy going people I know)! He basically refused to move us to another room and then refused to refund my money when I said we would just check out. I've had to contact my credit card company to get my refund. I was nice and tactful the entire time because I thought it my best recourse in getting my money back but he thought rudeness was the best avenue to take with me.

Good stay
We stayed for 3 nights while vacationing in Memphis. Was a really easy trip over into Memphis while away from the city. Not real close to eating places. It was definitely a continental breakfast -not a lot of choice although the waffles and muffins were good. The room was clean and well kept and had all we needed.

The locations was somewhat hard to find, but we did find it! Be looking in the air for the sign would be easier than looking for the hotel itself. It was hard to see the hotel but the sign was visible from farther away.

Homegate Inn & Suites
Very nice & clean. I would stay there again. Very convenient to downtown Memphis without the high price tag of downtown. Continental Breakfast was very minimal and packaged for the most part. One type of coffee, no decaf.

Nice place bad placement
I took awhile for us to figure out how to get into the place. We got directions from two people, they were both right but we just couldn't believe them. You have to drive over waht looks like the edge of an off ramp having faith that there is another side and that no one is coming the other way. Once we got there we found a clean pleasant place with helpful staff. The breakfast isn't much (and no hot tea) but it got us started in the morning. Unfortunatly it was about thirty minutes from everything we wanted to do, but really all we did was sleep there so even that wasnt a big deal. But they really should put some sort of sign at the road leading in, something like, "trust us folks, there's really a road here." The construction around the place wasn't helpful either.

Clean, comfortable and quiet
I stayed at this motel for three nights while taking in the tourist sights of Downtown Memphis. Staff was average, Continental breakfast was a letdown (if you're going to claim to offer it, don't use cheap waffle batter and shrink-wrapped danishes). Rooms were very clean and this was in a quiet area. West Memphis, AR is just across the river from the good stuff, but as of August 2010, the highway is torn up, and finding exits/navigating traffic is a headache. This also makes finding local eateries or shopping not fun. But the rooms were clean, comfortable (room to spread out), and quiet, and for me at least, that's what's important.
