great hotel if you like exercise
The hotel really isn't that bad as far as comfortable beds and clean rooms go...the breakfast isn't very big...especially if you don't like waffles. The location is great if you want to do stuff downtown. The problem i had with the hotel is the fact that the staff was very rude and i waited outside of the verizon arena for almost an hour after calling them to send a van to pick me up and nobody arrived to get me! after an hour i decided to walk back to the hotel from the verizon arena and it was quite a haul...we contacted the staff 4 times and each time they were ruder than the time previously. If you want to do stuff at verizon, i woudl recomend driving and not depending on their unreliable shuttle drivers.

Needs Maintenance
The room was nice but needed maintenance. There was something growing on the closet floor... Water never got very hot.

Excellent Stay!
We were on vacation for a bachelorette party. The hotel was awesome and they had a 24 hour shuttle service, which was amazing. The only down side was the air conditioner didn't run well, other than that we were very pleased!

$100 poorer
Worst $100 spend on a hotel ever.
We were there for no more than an hour and checked out. The hotel was in the worst part of town, we were scared to leave our room. When I asked about the pool, the person checking me in said: "Yeah, we have one, but I don't know if it's open...they don't communicate with us here." I already knew it was open because we could see it pulling in, I just wanted to see if there was more than one. There were stains everywhere, the carpets were nasty and the rooms smell weird. I think the star rating should have a lot to do with what part of town they're in, not just how many floors it has. We went across town to the Hampton Inn. Spent $200 that night on hotels. If I'd a known that I would of gotten a 5star somewhere.

Short drive from hotel
In Little Rock, everything worth seeing is or doing is in north Little Rock...and don't stay downtown, unless you plan on staying at a 5star hotel.

Weekend Trip for Arkansas Riverfest
We were in Little Rock for the weekend to attend Arkansas Riverfest. We chose the La Quinta Inn & Suites Downtown because it was within walking distance of the festival, and it allowed us to bring our pet. We couldn't find a dog sitter and many hotels in the area prohibit pets. The hotel is comfortable but nothing fancy. Our room was clean, smelled fresh, and free of any damage. Everything in the room functioned well, and all the staff was friendly. They have a parking garage adjacent to the hotel and parking is free to guests. There are several dining options within walking distance. (Some are not open at night or on weekends.) The location is easy to get to from Interstate 630 and the neighborhood is a "mostly" safe downtown area. The hotel rooms could stand to be updated/refurbished, but overall it's a good value for the price paid.

If you have a chance, try EJ's Eat Place. It's a diner about two blocks east of the hotel and the service was great and the burger was even better.

The Reason
Not what I expected
I went to Little Rock for a Youth Evangelism Conference. We had Three Girls and Two Guys. So we had two rooms. I reserved two non-smoking Rooms and was given smoking rooms but was two tired to complain. We had a small bus and had to park on the street but it was free for the weekend. there is a parking garage next to the hotel. Plenty of fast food places near by. The Lobby is impressive, clean and inviting. There was a friendly and helpful security guard. The rooms were clean but beds, for me, were too hard. the edge of the beds felt so hard it would make you think there was plywood sides. the center of the beds were lumpy. I did not sleep well. The tv remote was messed up. you had to turn the tv from the set, and then no matter what button you pushed on the remote it would only channel down. The breakfast was nice but nothing special. I won't stay there again.
