The Capital Hotel was borne of an *idea* of what the greatest sort of luxury hotel could be in the late 1800*s. Sporting- of all things-an elevator large enough to bear a guest and his horse upstairs- a state-of-the-art communications system -the *magnetic annunciator*- and proudly displaying the first electric light fixture to be found in a hotel in the south- a local matron declared the hotel *a capital enterprise located in a capital building.* the name stuck. The capital was a beacon to southern culture in its day and over the decades was continuously reinvented to characterize the very best of the south for each time. Today is no different. A family of third-generation Arkansans has lovingly renovated and refreshed this grand lady- and our management and staff are devoted to bringing a new *capital idea* to guests. Having recruited renowned chefs and expert hoteliers- James Beard Award-winning Chef Joel Antunes celebrates his return to the American South with One Eleven at the Capital. Antunes melds his food experiences from five continents with the discipline and devotion to the soil learned at the knee Paul Bocuse and his early teachers- complemented by his signature culinary flare.* one can say it*s the latest of the Capital ideas that have animated the hotel since it arrived on the scene in antebellum little rock. Today the Capital Hotel is *the front porch of little rock* the portal to a rich and rewarding experience of the best of the region and the authentic welcome that warms the south. We are committed to bringing new ideas to old favorites- to providing relevant and meaningful tastes- sounds and textures to our guests- so that each leaves our door touched by something real that can only be found right here. .

disappointing

My wife and I were looking forward to staying there and then going to the Clinton museum. We checked in and were given room keys to room 343. We got to the room and entered only to see that someone else was in there. When I got back to the desk the person that was staying in the room was there as her key no longer worked. The desk gave us a passive "sorry" and assigned us a new room. The new room was much smaller and noisy as there was a wedding reception around the corner until 10pm (not really a big deal). I would not stay there again even at half price. The restaurant was good.

You won't believe it!!!!!

You wouldn't think there would be a beautiful 5 star hotel in the heart of downtown Little Rock... But there IS!!!! What a gem. The entire staff is friendly and very helpful. The hotel is a diamond in the rough. If you are going to Little Rock to see the Clinton Library... This hotel is a MUST. Just jump on the trolley and it takes you right there! We had to check out one day early and the front desk offered all kinds of help... Room service in the morning etc.!!!!! Always gracious with southern hosbitality. I highly recommend this hotel.

Beautiful hotel

The hotel was beautiful and very plush. We went to Riverfest so the hotel was very close to the events going on there. Also the food was very good. I would definitely go back.

Charming, Historic Boutique Hotel

What a great hotel! The absolute best in all of Arkansas. Service was impeccable...all staff knowing your name and eager to help to make your stay enjoyable! Absolute gorgeous hotel and guest rooms with an amazing history. VERY reasonably priced for the quality. Only drawback was room service menu not extensive for 24 hour dining and no coffee in room. Capital Grill, in house dining, was fabulous and great atmosphere! Will definitely ONLY stay here when traveling to Little Rock.
