Very comfortable stay..

This was a very nice and clean hotel. It had everything we needed and more..the only problem was the air conditioner is on a timer that recognizes when the room is occupied and it wasn't working properly. The bed is very comfortable. We got a good nights sleep!

Candlewood Suites

Called to let them know we'd arrive late. The room was not clean, due to a new computer system? Did their best to make it right and ended up being an OK stay due to the courteousness of the staff. I did expect more from this type of hotel, hence the average rating.

Great value

Having a furnished kitchenette was a great value. We stayed in a one bedroom suite with a King bed and sleeper sofa in the living area. This room was ADA accessible which was great as it was very roomy. However, in the bathroom there was only a single sink with no vanity space for your toiletries. It was located approximately 3 miles from the downtown area which was very convienient to the National Park and Bathhouse Row. I would highly recommend the Candlewood Suites especially for families.

Great place for family vacaton

This hotel can't be beat for an affordable family getaway. It is very clean and nice. We needed two additional beds and had a sleeper-sofa bed and a rollaway that was already in our room, on arrival; with a little rearranging, there was room for both of them. There is also a very nice private suite, plenty of storage space for everyone and a great kitchen with all the necessities and a large bathroom with plenty of storage. The staff is very friendly. Only complaints are; there is not a continental breakfast, but there is a market in the lobby where you can purchase items to cook small, quick meals in the room, 2) there was no hot water for most of the morning of our check-out. They did get it fixed and although we ended up staying one hour past check-out, we were NOT charged for the overage, 3) the master suite can get stuffy because there is only one wall vent for air flow and we had to open the door to cool the room. Not unbearable, though. Great location and would definitely stay there again.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

I recommend the Back Porch Grill for dinner. Great steaks and atmosphere. While not required, you might want to dress in nicer, business casual clothing. I felt a little underdressed in jean shorts and a casual shirt. Another really good and fun place is the Hot Springs Brau Haus; really good German food, huge selection of German beers and a wonderful atmosphere with great service.

Home away from home

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay while celebrating our seven year anniversary. It was my first trip to Hot Springs, so I really indulged myself. The first day we toured the state park and took in the sights of the town. Hot Springs has an amazing history. The next day I enjoyed a 50 min massage while she had a facial. Afterwards, I went to my 12'clock tee time. Took a swim in the pool when we got back to the hotel and went out to eat at the world famous Mclard's BBQ. The next day, before we checked out, I went down to the Golf Outlet store and tried out some new drivers and bought one for a really good price.

Money-saving tip: In Hotel

Candlewood Suites has a small kitchen. We made a trip to Walmart and bought a few things to cook in the hotel. It has a full size refrigerator to keep your groceries and leftovers in. Also, bring an ice chest, so you can bring it all home with you. You can wash your own clothes for free, just bring detergent.

Good, but could have been even better!!

We really enjoyed our stay at Candlewood Suites. The room was beautiful, as well as clean. The location was very convenient to everything we wanted to see. The only disappointment was that there wasn't even a continental breakfast. Almost every other hotel we had looked at offered at least that. Most offered a hot breakfast.

Good Hotel

We found the hotel to be clean and well located. The rooms were nice and included microwave, refrigerator, stove, cabinets, etc. Nice for the price. The upstairs neighbor was noisy, but this could happen anywhere. Had a small exercise room and no ice machine. Easy to find, just down from the racetrack, free parking, one entrance (great for security). Good hotel, not extravagant, but nice.
