Bed was very hard. No lamp at bedside. Staff was very nice.

bring your own towels & pillows. They're slow to return your deposit.

Extended stay motel that will suffice if you're just looking for a place to sleep and shower. Very plain, but clean.

Room was clean, but no extra towels or toilet paper. Had to ask front desk for these items and they never brought them, we had to go down and get them ourselves. Toilet clogged up first night there and we asked them to fix it on our way out the next day and when we came back they had not touched it. We had to go down and get a plunger and do it ourselves. They also messed up the bill, supposed to be on two separate cards, they charged the same card 3 times. Customer service is severly lacking, don't stay here unless you don't care about having your room cleaned and enough supplies.

Value Place is an extended-stay hotel whose management decided to tap into the lucrative University of Alabama Gameday Weekend hotel guest market, where hotel/motel demand far exceeds supply. Check-in took 40 minutes. The desk staffer told me that VP was overbooked, and that I'd always need to check with Orbitz before checking in with them, to ensure that I still had a reservation. WHAT?!?!? I wouldn't leave her desk until she secured a room for us.....I'd traveled seven hours to my alma mater town for Homecoming festivities, and was NOT leaving. I had to settle for a smoking "suite" (laughable descriptive...and for the record, we're non-smokers). No hair dryer in the bathroom, and people all over the overbooked hotel were making late-night Wal-Mart runs for a cheap hair dryer, as did we. The towels were of such poor quality, that tiny cloth fibers stuck to our skin and hair as we'd dry off from a bath/shower, and had to be rubbed off. The television remote didn't work, so we watched CNN while in the room. Guests were in the lobby complaining about everything. We all agreed that we'd contact TripAdvisor and other online review sites and tell the Value Place/Tuscaloosa Story!! This hotel has no business offering their property to weekend gameday guests. It was the low point of an otherwise fun weekend.

I was in town for a class. This Hotel was the bare basics , a room and a bed. It was very clean, maybe because it is a new building. If you just need a place to sleep an no much else this is your place, just a bed ( a hard one at that ), TV , AC , bathroom , but it did have a little kitchen. The hotel did not have a pool or hot tub, and everything else was extra $$$ . Good place for a long term stay , if you need to save money.
