Holiday Inn Express ORANGE BEACH-ON THE BEACH

Hotel was futher away than expected from gulf shores. When we arrived, no one at desk. I waited for around 10 minutes, looking around to see if anyone worked there. Another couple came in and wanted to check in also. After waiting for some time, they called the hotel from cell and we could hear the hotel phone ringing. After a second call and a wait of 20 minutes, the girl came around from back where the phone was ringing. No apologizes. She gave me a room, only to find out, it was on the bottom floor beside the meeting room filled with a loud party of people. I asked for another room and she gave me another key on upper floor. After moving my bags, waiting on the elevator and finding the new room, we walked into a dirty, uncleaned, unmade room. I left my bags and down to the desk again. She acted like she did not believe me when I told her of the condition. She did give me another room with a pool view on the bottom floor. Said it was an upcharge but she would comp it for our trouble. We moved bags again and finally got to a usable room. Breakfast was good in the morning and checkout was smooth with another face at the desk. I have stayed at many Holiday Inn Express without any complaints, but I don't plan on staying at this one ever again. Hopefully no one else will have these issues. Bad business!!!

Nice hotel, steps from the beach, free hot breakfast and 30min from great outlet. We had a room issue (reserved a room facing the beach )and this was resolved the next day. Pleasant find.

The fact that we were just steps from the beach and didn't want to waste time looking elsewhere was the only reason we stayed all 3 nights. We were given a smelly handicap room which we did not need or want. It was ugly and the mattresses were stained and sunk in the middle. We waited until 5:00 pm each day for the towels to be brought. I felt that we were perhaps given this room because we had booked through a third party. Very disappointed!!

We loved the pool, and we had a fantastic 4th floor gulf-front room with a view of the beach. We enjoyed the pool-side bar, and the chairs provided by the hotel on the beach. We also indulged in the free breakfasts. Our room was great and had a refrigerator, "kitchen" sink, and microwave. We loved our balcony and bathroom as well. Our only things that could have been improved upon was the pool side bar could have offered a few more snacks (although the hot dog was delicious), and the beach-side chairs could have been a little less expensive (25 dollars per day).

The hotel was the smallest building among the condo's on the beach. At first we were hesitant because you could tell it was older then the other buildings, but once we checked in all hesitation was removed. The staff was great. Always smiling and made us aware they were there to make sure our time at the beach was enjoyable. Each morning we woke to a hot breakfast. Served something different each morning. The omelet morning was our favorite along with the warm cinamon rolls. We will definitely stay here on our next visit!

Only problem was maid didn't clean the coffee pot! Everything else was fabulous!

This hotel is located in a great spot. Close to the restaurants AND the beach. Nice pool with bar when you're tired of the beach. I would recommend this to friends.

Loved the location and the free breakfast. Bartendar at the pool was great and drinks were fantastic. Pretty good for the money! Bunch of kids running around but that was expected (we have no kids). Beach was clean. Renting beach chairs and umbrella's seemed expensive so we just sat on a blanket.

Had a great time para-sailing! Hotel is right on the beach. Souvenir shop and restaurants within walking distance.

We had a mother/daughter get away weekend. It was great.....we enjoyed the beautiful pool, gulf, and our room was nice and clean. Great shower too. Breakfast was nice.
