Uninhabitable - Avoid at all costs!

Would not recommend Tue, Feb 25, 2014
When my 17 year old son was unwilling to step into the shower, I knew this place was awful. Carpet: moldy, full of holes, and unidentifiable "lumps" that could have been anything from bad padding to... 'organics'. Smell: how can a labeled non-smoking room smell like an ashtray? Noise: I-65 freeway noise wasn't bad, but the clamor from the room next door - loud talking, music, children screaming - made this the only hotel I've ever left within 1 hour of check-in. I was looking for a 1-word description, and UNINHABITABLE is the only thing that springs to mind. We checked in early trying to sleep off the red-eye jet lag, but couldn't stand the smell, noise, and run-down conditions, and groggily fled.

don't expect to get a good nights sleep

Would not recommend Mon, Dec 9, 2013
It was fairly clean but rundown. We don't do not mind that. What we did mind was seeing a roach, only one which we killed. Another thing we did not appreciate was being woke up at 1:48 a.m. by a vacuum cleaner in rooms next to ours. During the vacuum experience we began to smell cigarette smoke which increasingly became stronger during the cleaning process. We were in nonsmoking rooms because I am allergic to smoke but workers were breaking that rule.

You get what you pay for!

I chose this hotel for my family because it was affordably priced and it offered a free continental breakfast... the breakfast was eliminated because of budget cuts (Might want to double check the website!) The rooms weren't appalling... but the wife was not very happy with my choice. We will spend the extra $10-$20 next time and stay somewhere else.

Money saver

There are many other choices for hotels in the very close vicinity; choose the Family Inns of America if you truely don't have any other choices.

The scary truth

Would not recommend Tue, Jul 13, 2010
You pass some very nice Hotels to see a run down dump. There is a fence between this Hotel and the nice ones. The swimming pool is over to the side behind some dumpsters next to the service road. To enter the pool you walk between the dumpsters, not safe at night. The Hotel is orange and yellow with a huge flashing sign out front. The people standing outside everywhere are not the people you want small children around. They look like prostitutes, and drug dealers. We saw no families staying at this Hotel. It is NOT the Hotel in the pictures on there web site. I refused to stay with my 3 daughters, ages 8, 10, and 15, because I didn't feel it was safe for us. [...]

Completely Awful

Would not recommend Sat, Jun 12, 2010
When we checked in, we had to talk to the woman at the front desk through a hole in a glass window. She was unfriendly and rude. The room was spacious, but smelled like mold and chemicals. The walls were so thin that we could hear our neighbors sneeze. When we checked out, we had to wait while the clerk talked to the owner on the phone. They were discussing the sales from the past few days with a tone that suggested she couldn't believe they made so much money. Neither could I, and I will never stay here again.

My review of Family Inns of America

Would recommend Sun, Oct 7, 2007
Friendly staff, but a rather old and out dated motel.

Dining

There are several good restaurants on the same frontage road and next adjacent to I-65.
