No-frills lodging off Interstate 65 -- and 20 minutes from the airport
The Days Inn Mobile Airport sits conveniently between Mobile Regional Airport (about 20 minutes west) and downtown Mobile (15 minutes east). Interstate 65 runs right by here, and the signature attractions of the region (Mobile Tennis Center, Hank Aaron Stadium, USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park) are within an easy drive. This is the quintessential no-frills hotel, with basic accommodations and little more. That said, guests can still expect a few small perks -- namely free continental breakfast and a seasonal outdoor pool.

Dirty place

Where to begin well the staff was very helpful but after that it went straight down hill. The ice machine on the 2nd floor was broke the "secure" rear entrance was not secure at all the hotel smelled moldy and then once you get in the room the coffee make was not working and there was black mold in the shower I feel bad for the staff for having to deal with such poor condition.

You get what you pay for

I stay somewhere on the I-65/Airport road strip every January, and base my decision on price. Next year, I'll base it on price, excluding this Days Inn. The place is really run down, and I don't think they've cleaned under the bed in years. The first room I was in had an A/C unit that didn't work, and all of the electric outlets were occupied. So, to charge my laptop, I had to unplug a lamp. They moved me to another room that didn't have these problems, which is good, and the staff is very nice; I think the stuff that really needs to be fixed here is too much for them. The location is a bit odd, too; you really need to understand how the various ramps and service roads work to get to it. At least the Wi-Fi was fast.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

Baumhower's, on Airport Blvd south service road, is a great place for buffalo wings and a beer.

Extremely Filthy!

This had to be one of the most filthiest hotel rooms I've ever stayed in. The carpet was dirty and "sticky". The walls were extremely dirty, especially in the bathroom. There was old soap scum in the bathtub and on the walls of the shower. The toilet rocked and I'm certain if I rocked it lightly (high emphasis on lightly) it would have come off the foundation. There was white tape holding down the entrance area into the bathroom, and there were splatters of dead bugs on the walls near the window in the room. I tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt from all the negative ratings I read and try it, and I regret it. The only thing that kept me there was the fact that I had a short amount of time in town and didn't want to deal with the hassle of trying to get another room. I do, however, plan to complain to the Days Inn corporate offices about this experience, with pictures, and demand some sort of compensation. This place truly gives the Days Inn a bad...correction...horrible reputation. I'll never stay in another Days Inn because of it.

STRAIGHT GARBAGE

The website pictures are deceiving. The rooms were horrible. Wreaked of smoke, there was wet black mold in the window, toilets were stained, we felt like we were falling through the floor, the only thing that saved us was the dirty carpet. Moved out into new hotel next door about 11:00 p.m. CAUTION: If you have allergies, they are sure to flare up here. My Sister-in-law couldn't talk after enhaling this air for 30 minutes, and I was hoarse. Have asthma? Don't even think about it!

Dont stop keep going !

We stayed there approximatly 15 days. The outside of the hotel was very maintained. The room was very smelly. The floors were never vacuumed. The housekeeping was very poor. We had to ask for linen changes on a daily basis. The bathroom floor was wet because of a leak we complained about but never got fixed. The air conditioning grille and window seal were filthy. The breakfast bar was operated in a very unsanitary manner. It was so noisy it was hard for me and my family to sleep.

Bring your own cleaning supplies

the only reason I stayed there is becuase of the cheap rate and the second I got there, I realized why the rate was so cheap. The rooms are smelly and not very clean. I had to go tp the gas station and buy some cleaning products so that I could take showers and use the bathroom.

Its jus ok, when you want to be cheap.

The carpet in the hotel was very dirty which gave the hotel a weird smell. Wouldnt recommend for a family trip with kids, other than that hotel clerk was very helpful, housekeeping did show up to clean even though it was to early for me, and the location was great for a cheap price.
