Modern Living for Modern People
It was a very Modern style hotel, unlike any I had ever been to before. I liked the layout of the rooms and the comfort of the whole place. Love that they had Hungry Hungry Hippos for guest to play in the Lounge.

Not too bad
Great looking hotel. I was a little disappointed in that it didn't seem like the floors were vacuumed in days. Also, although the rooms were very nice, the shower didn't work very well.

Hip little getaway
We just crashed there for an overnight stay, and the rooms are extremely nice and well priced for the upscale comfort given in each room. The bathroom was very contemporary with convenient shampoo and body wash hung on the wall. The beds were extremely comfortable, and the flat screen hung on the wall was a nice touch as well. Plus, the water bottles were free in the room.

Wonderful Get Away
The modern style of the Aloft room was incredible. Everything thing from the moment we opened the door to our room was incredibly perfect. The bed was spotless and huge, monster tv on the wall, walk-in shower and modern fixtures. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay or a better location in conjunction to the SoHo area shops and restaurant/bars.

Sleek, modern but lacked BASIC things
The design of the hotel was very nice but it lacked some basic things that a much cheaper hotel would have: No ice bucket or ice machine (for guest). Had to get ice from employee. Didn't have a Do not Disturb sign "in my room". Other than those minor flaws, I had a great stay. I'd recommend it to a couple needing a quaint getaway in the Homewood/Birmingham area.

Awesome Urban Retreat
I was staying at this hotel before a huge professional exam. I chose Aloft because of its unique design features as well as the centralized location in the Birmingham area. The location was great because of all the restaurants and bars that were in walking distance. I also enjoyed the convenience of the 24/7 food bar that you could get snacks, etc and add them to your tab.

Go to Jacksons Bar and Bistro. If the weather is nice, you can sit outside and people watch and have a great time. Great food. Also if you are in the mood for pizza you can go to Dave's in Homewood.

aloft Hotel in Homewood, AL
Hotel was very clean, excellent location, wonderful staff at front desk. However was very modern and minimal. They skipped on a few things that should have been just basic comforts and the housekeeping did a poor job keeping our room stocked with towels, shampoo, and toilet paper. When we asked for extras they didn't arrive.
