We were in town for a friend's wedding. The hotel was nice, clean and economical. We did not get housekeeping the whole ... week-end, including clean towels. There was a card in the room informing us of the housekeeping policy on week-ends, but clean towels would have been nice.

WONDERFUL HOTEL
Memphis traveler with pet Aug 17, 2009
We were pleasantly surprised at how beautiful the hotel was. It had a small kitchen with everything needed for a snack or a ... meal if wanted. Granite counter tops, tumbled stone, leather chair, cherry furniture and lush bedding were in the room. The staff was helpful and very friendly. The free breakfast was high grade and had just enough choices for anyone. We choise this hotel because of price and it was pet friendly.

We tried several seafood restraunts but were the most impressed by Desoto's. It was the best for price and food.

Great location and free breakfast buffet
new mom Jul 30, 2009
They upgraded our room for free! The room was very spacious with a large kitchen, living room, and bathroom. The hotel was ... located right in between the beach and outlet mall. It only took 10 minutes to get to either place. The free breakfast buffet was delicious!

Great Family Getaway
Jen Jul 29, 2009
I would have liked to be closer to the beach. We had to drive a few miles. Also, our room did not get cleaned oneday. The ... breakfast was GREAT. My family love being able to go down and get a great breakfast to start the day. The hotel was very clean and everyone was very nice.

I really enjoyed the hotel. The room was not what I expected. I thought that it was double room, meaning the living room area ... and the bedroom would be separated. Other than this It was perfect. I never been to a hotel with free washer and dryer. (spectacular)

Great location and a great deal!
Family of three Jul 15, 2009
The location is perfect. All of the attractions are really close, even the beach. The hotel was only 4mths. old and really ... nice. I especially like the seperate bedroom, living room and kitchen. We ate there most of the time. The couch was a sleeper, which came in handy, when the room with two double-beds that we reserved was not available and we had to take a room with a king size bed. Luckily we only have 1 daughter and she slept on the sleeper. My biggest problem with the hotel was the week we were there was also the week of a baseball tournament. There were 2-3 teams staying there and the kids were out of control. Running up and down the halls, making noise and hogging the pool till it closed every nite. The parents weren't much better. They hogged the two grills that the hotel offers and left their trash everywhere. It was really nasty. I guess they didn't have enough staff to keep up with their constant mess making and trash. They were probably the reason that we didn't get the room we reserved. Housekeeping didn't service our room even once and we were there for 4 nights. I had to take out all the trash, exchange dirty towels for clean ones and get the basics (toilet pap., coffee and creamer, etc..) from the front desk. We would put the magnet, saying come back later, on the door in the morning but take it off when we left around noon but they never came. They don't service the rooms on the weekend unless you request it. They hadn't done it during the week so I didn't see the point. Don't get me wrong, we will stay there again. For the price, it was a great place for our family. The kitchen is great to have and I heard that they serve a free dinner on tues., wed. and thur. We weren't there those nites. Maybe if the ball teams had not been staying there, our experience would have been much better. Still, a very nice hotel suite and I do recommend it.

Great New Hotel - Poorly Designed
Chicagoan Jul 11, 2009
Probably 5 miles north of the white sand beaches of Gulf Shores, the Staybridge Suites are comfortably away from the action. ... The breakfast bar was great, as were the mid-week snacks in the breakfast area around 5pm on most weeknights. The pool was small and crowded, but gets plenty of afternoon sun. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, although the place has the feel of being build quickly and cheaply. For example, in the kitchen, the faucet spout barely reached to the sink, spraying water all over the counter instead. There was only one elevator, despite the four floors -- you always need to wait for the elevator. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. You can still smell the new carpet in the stairwells. There aren't many places to eat right nearby -- restaurants require a drive. The dog barking across the hall got irritating. The two flat-screen TVs and wireless Internet were great. It's also nice to have two DVD players -- however, only one remote had DVD-control capabilities.

Don't pay for parking at the beaches! There are places to park for free very close by -- look for them.

Excellent stay and fair price
Andy Jul 5, 2009
The room was beautiful. Definitely the nicest hotel we've ever stayed in! Great price compared to other places in the ... area. Location was good, 5 min from the beach, but back far enough to be out of the main tourist drag. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

The beaches are wonderful. Check out the beaches in Gulf State Park. Way less crowded, more natural. We even saw dolphins from the beach.

Wonderful experience
Doverette Jun 21, 2009
The room was huge and very clean. It was classy. There was a little kitchen so we made our own dinner AT the hotel :). The ... free breakfast was yummy. The couch folded out to a bed so our 3 year old slept on that and loved having a bed to himself. The location was perfect...near the mall and the beach. But it was far enough from the road to where it was nice and quiet. No complaints at all. This hotel was first class!

The hotel is very conviently located between outlet mall and beach...excellent location without having to pay the extra bucks ... to stay "on the beach". The entire staff was very friendly...this included everyone from front desk staff to housekeeping. They didn't have the attitude most workers have now-a-days. There is also a breakfast buffet each morning that is very good. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling that area. I will definitely stay there next time I am down there.
