Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites DECATUR

My husband and I stayed at the Holiday Inn in Decatur when we took a weekend away to reconnect. We have 4 month old twins at home and this was our first time away from them. The hotel was very pretty and clean. The staff was very friendly. We loved the game room and the pool. The hot tub wasn't working when we were there, but that wasn't a problem for us, though it would have been nice. All in all, a great stay and we would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area.

Over all the stay really wasn't all that bad, however, they didn't have my father and my room together. I had my room outside and he was inside. So ever day I had to go to his room several times to fix his machine for his kidney dialysis and also set up his meds. Outside my room there were river rats. Not very appealing. Also my last night I asked to switch my room inside however I left some of my clothing articals in the room and wanted to retrive it, however the housecleaning already cleaned the room and my stuff was never returned because they claim no one was around to talk to. I was very unsatisfied with that matter so I'm out some clothes with in a few hours time. I've been in better. We were in town for my fathers aunts funeral. Stayed three nights at the hotel. We could not switch because there was no refund policy.

Nice location for our Decatur Soccer Tourney weekend, but there are closer hotels. We did have some street noise from large trucks at various times during the night. The whole place was a little humid due to the indoor pool. My daughter enjoyed the indoor pool. Suites around the indoor pool area were noisy until pool closed. We may try another hotel next year that is a little closer to the soccer fields.

WE HAD A GREAT STAY I HAD MY DAUGHTERS 11 B-DAY PARTY HERE SO THEY COULD SWIM.THE ONLY BAD THING WAS A FEW DAYS BEFORE WE WENT THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE HEATER IN THE POOL SO IT WASNT THAT WARM BUT THE KIDS STILL SWAM IN IT.THE ROOMS WERE VERY NICE,ALONG WITH THE STAFF.

The hotel was an older hotel. you can see where they have tried to spruce it up, but its just an old hotel. Just not a good choice for the price.

When it comes to quality, the Holiday Inn Decatur, AL is just that - your basic Holiday Inn. The place is just dirty. Period. The maintenance and upkeep of the hotel is poor, it smells (even the tap water smells), and the management is sadly lacking. I went back in the kitchen after hours to look for some cream for coffee. What I found didn't surprise me - the place was a mess. Management should be replaced immediately. Its obvious that the investors (the property is owned/operated by a franchisee) aren't paying attention. Anyone serious about their investment would have shaken up the place long ago. The one good thing I can say is that the staff was terrific.
