Clean, friendly
In Decatur for a family reunion. 3 couples, one parent with 2 kids, each had different rooms on different floors (all booked separately). PROS: All rooms were clean. Check in and out was easy, receptionists very friendly and helpful. Kids used the pool and liked it. CONS: Our bed was very uncomfortable. We needed extra towels one night and got what would be better described as rags.

My stay at the Merriot in Decatur Al.
What i was trying to say above is the hotel is not disable friendly the beds were to soft for a person with a broke back and bad arm could not get up cause i sunk to far down in the bed . I could not sleep in the bed. Tried to sleep in chair but like i said the back was to short, to give support for the head and back to rest, Needless to say i only got 4 hours of sleep the two nite's i stayed their. Other than me being disable the say would have being a very pleasing one. The staff was very pleasant the morning meal was very good. The guy cooking the special order eggs to order was very good and a real pleasure to talk with and the coffee was GREAT.

Time-saving tip:
Short drive from hotel
If you are looking to party and go out for drinks Decatur is really not the place. Reason being get out of city limits its dry. How ever on the other hand what entertainment their is its not that far away And if you have a few to many its a short tax ride back to the hotel . I'm not saying you can;t have a good time . Hell yes you can theirs a lot to do and see in Decatur and the country all around Decatur . The Red stone is just a few miles from Decatur where the Space center was born. A great tour for all ages. Have Fun
