Moldy Room, friendly staff

The shower was leaking in our room and black mold was growing up the wall. It smelled pretty badly, and I'm not sure how nothing has been done before now. The staff was friendly and quick to move us to another room. The staff and hotel is also VERY pet friendly, which was a big deal for me and my family.

A Nice Stay

After a 10 hour drive I arrived to a clean room inside an upscale office park a little off the beaten path. Decent restaurants are within a few miles (I ate at Dale's southern Grill and it was cheap and had very good home cooked food). The parking lot is well lit and generally felt safe. The free breakfast is no frills but good with coffee, juices, cereal, yogurt, assorted pastries, and a waffle press. Not bad for a $65 room. The only black mark was that upon arrival into my first room I found a bedbug on the floor of the bathroom. The has become a fairly common thing so I'm not going to freak out about it and write a bad review. However, upon telling the night manager and changing rooms I think some sort of discount should have been offered. My second room was fine and nothing bit me while I slept.

Football game

Was in town to watch an Alabama football game. Accommodation in Tuscaloosa was pretty overpriced so I settled for La Quinta Inn which was about an hour drive from Tuscaloosa. Room was clean and spacious.

Great Value for Money

I was looking for a clean, inexpensive place to stay and this place worked for us. The hotel was fairly quiet and the room was roomy enough for us to have a portable crib and a roll away bed, in addition to the two double beds. The staff was very accomodating and gave us the roll away bed for no cost and let me check in well before the 1pm check in time. All in all I thought it was a great value for the money.

Good Location

My overall stay in the hotel was uneventful. The room came with the basic amenities such as TV and telephone and free wifi at the lobby. The front desk staff were courteous. The best part of my stay was the free breakfast- good variety of healthy foods. The only negative aspect was the dirty shower curtain. It had several spots of something that looked like mold and that was irritating.

Nice place, but not a good experience...

We booked two non smoking rooms through [...]and prepaid. When we got there, we checked in, only to find that there were no non-smoking rooms. We would have picked another hotel had we known. When we got to the rooms, we opened the door of one of them and there was already someone in there! Luckily, they were in the bathroom so it wasn't as embarrassing as it could have been. We got another room (also a smoking room). The hotel is nice, but when I book a non smoking room and pre-pay, I do not expect to get there and be told they only have smoking rooms available. And I never expect to walk into a hotel room where there is another guest already there!

Nightlife tip: Short drive from hotel

Our "nightlife" was an evening mass at church. We used our GPS, but coming back in the dark was frightening due to the high-speed traffic on the interstate.

UK vs Pitt Compass Bowl Trip

We were staying the night to go to the UK vs Pitt Compass Bowl Football game. Other than the front desk clerk, who was very friendly, the other staff were not that friendly. One even told a person, very rudely sounding, that the breakfast stopped at 9:30(it was 9:33). The walls were very thin, we could hear folks talking in other rooms at 3:00AM. We did not get a good nights sleep, because of this. We definitely would not stay again at this hotel.
