We have accommodations to fit every lifestyle, the choice is yours. New in the spring of *03, they feature private master bedroom with built in washer/dryer, luxury linens and it's own 25 inchTV. The living area is spacious with 25 inch TV, DVD player, sofa, desk, free wireless internet access and large corner windows. The full kitchen comes complete with stocked dish ware. Standard Deluxe Rooms feature two queen sized beds, private bathroom with tub and shower, color TV, DVD player, wireless internet access, small refrigerator/freezer, microwave, in room coffee maker and more. It was good.

It was a fishing trip. Although we did not catch any due to fact that it was raining the whole weekend, we just stay in the hotel most of the time and rest.

Pricey but clean

The hotel is conveniently located to the downtown area. We stayed in one of the standalone cottages behind the hotel. It was acceptably clean, although not spotless. The bed was a bit saggy. The staff I encountered were all very nice and helpful. Our dog was allowed to stay for an extra $10. We had a great dinner in the restaurant. We stayed over the 4th of July weekend, so even though it seemed expensive at $180, we have to consider the location and the time. Valdez is a beautiful city to visit, and it's swamped over the holiday weekends. We were allowed to check in almost 2 hours early, so I appreciated that after the long drive down from Fairbanks.

Not recommended

Room, hotel, restaurant had heavy smell of mould. We got only one towel in the room, and in the morning housekeeping supervisor was after us blaming us that we took towels! Though, she apologized when we told her we got only one towel. Room carpet was covered in stains. In our room we could completely hear conversations from the staff room, noisy. Food in the restaurant was good.
