Great staff, great room, great time!
We couldn't have asked for better accommodations or friendlier staff! We arrived at 4:30 in the morning after an all night drive to get to Valdez, and because I had called to tell them we wouldn't be arriving before then, we weren't charged for our first night's stay! The hotel was clean and quiet, and was in easy walking distance of restaurants and harbor cruises. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable.

Pet Mom
Not a good experience
HEre's the problem. On-line the hotel indicated that it was "pet friendly". When I made the reservation on-line I was not asked if I would be traveling with pets. When I checked in at the hotel I was asked to sign a document saying that pets were only allowed in smoking rooms and there was an additional fee and a deposit required. I can live with the extra fee and deposit, but it should have been identified on line. I can not live with a smoking room as both my husband and I are allergic to smoke. To make matters worse, the hotel had no smoking rooms available, so we were not allowed to bring our 2 dogs into the hotel room. We were forced to leave them in our vehicle for the night. That is not acceptable. In addition, I prepaid $99.00 per night and when I checked it, I was asked to initial that the rate was $79.99 per night. SO I OVER PAID and I would like [...] to refund the $19.01 overcharge. I am not happy with this at all. Give potential customers the entire facts as they relate to pet friendly. Don't claim to be when you aren't!

Great location, great place to stay
The microwave was a bit small, wouldn't turn to pop the popcorn. Location was great for boat tours and walking through town. Nice views. No noisier than most motels, and the staff was very pleasant and helpful. There are packets of coffee in each room, but hot chocolate would have been nice, too.
