Expensive and run down
I stayed here 2 nights and was really disappointed. The room are very run down, many of the washers didn't work. I was considering going into the hot tub and mentioned this to someone in town while I was eating dinner. They told me somone just drowned in the hot tub there. I don't think I'll be staying here again.

Got what I paid for.
Asked for a non smoking room on my reservation, but I was given a smoking room the first night I was there, but I was so tired after a day of traveling, that I just dealt with it. I was kinda shocked to find out that there were still hotels that you could smoke in. The staff was Super nice when I asked to change rooms though. The hotel I slightly off the beaten path, but still close enough that it wasn't an issue. I think I would have been much happier paying $30 less a night.

I have not been back in Sitka, Alaska in 7 years. When I arrived I was hesitant of the hotel and wanted to quickly move to another hotel. Surprisingly my stay was genuinely great. The staff was very informative and helpful. What the hotel lacks in business convenience, It makes up for in cleanliness and helpful customer service. Like my sisters say " you didn't come into town to stay in the hotel, Get off your butt and enjoy small town wonders even if its only 14 miles of road." I enjoyed my time. I hope you will as well.

Everything in town is a short walk. The only time you should really use the rental car is when it rains hard or going to one of the trails Sitka has to offer.

Not clean, seems its gone downhill
Have been staying here over the past years and its always been okay. This time around, the window sill under the operable window was filthy and the whole room just was not up to par in terms of cleanliness. The price was the same as the other NICE hotels in town.

Hot tub out of order and weak wi-fi
The room was nice for the price. The staff was polite. I was dissapointed that the hot tub was not working. The wi-fi signal was very weak which proved to be nearly useless. I would stay here again because of the price.

Super 8 Hotel Sitka
The Super 8 had 2 floors without any elevator and no restaurant or fitness room. The continental breakfast is minimal.The staff were absolutely great! There are two other hotels in town for considerably more money and from what saw and talked with others who were at the other hotels this was as good as they were. The location was perfect, it was quiet, and I felt safe. It was easy to walk to the convention center and to the high school. I would definitely stay there again.

Sitka Super 8
Good: Inexpensive, quiet, clean room with a comfortable bed and a good location. Plus free wifi. Bad: No TV remote, no chocolate on my pillow at night.

Several historic sites from the Russian Alaska era, including the Battle of Sitka, are a short walk to the south. The best coffee shop in Sitka (the Highliner) is just around the corner.
