Super 8
The Super 8 in Ketchikan is in a great location; across from the mall and a few of the main restaurants. The one thing that I didn't like where the beds. They were very much like sleeping on card board and gave me and my daughter a back ache. The staff is friendly, and having a washer and dryer available to the guests is a major convenience.

Sushi Harbor is a great place to eat at an affordable price. And a major plus is the pleasant staff!

Ehhhh...
Average room, they forgot to clean on the first day, the ice machine was broken for the entire 3 day stay and the TV and available programming was budget. A starbuck accross the parking lot was the best feature...

Super-8 in Ketchikan
Friendly staff, clean room, comfortable bed, and excellent location. If you like to walk, you're about a mile from downtown. An easy, level walk all on sidewalks right to the end of downtown. About a half mile walk up hill to the town swimming pool. OK views, just about every room has a view of the water. I was busy all day fishing, just needed a place to unwind and sleep until the next day of fishing. It was basic motel, but fine.

Excellent Italian/Mexican dining facility just a short walk towards downtown, you can't miss it. Sorry, I can't remember the name. Neat little coffee shop 100 feet from the entrance.

the hotel staff was friendly, the rooms were clean. I wished they had more to choose from for breakfast. Shopping mall shared the parking lot and just a short drive to other shopping and dining. great location right on the water. They have freezers available for those who fish to store them in.

unbeatable location for price
I really enjoyed my stay here. The staff was friendly and helpful. It is a short ride to shopping like Wal Mart. But, there is a Mall right next door for most immediate needs. I would definitely recommend this as a economic place to stay with a nice view.

Convenient location
Safety is impportant, I did not have any issues during my stay. I did not feel completely safe, but that's due to my notion of Super 8 type of hotels. If they will update the decor, the room would feel more welcoming. It is clean and safe enough.

Everything closes early (5pm), so not much to do in the evenings regarding cultural or recreational activities. I don't drink, so bars are not for me.FYI, most places do not have A/C here since it is not suppose to get very hot during the summer.

Kind of noisy on a weekend
The hotel was nice and clean, the biggest problem I had was being situated near the elevator. Don't let them place you near the elevator either. All night people were coming and going, not quietly either. I had a room on one side that came in after a night of drinking (I assume) and the other side decided to begin arguing about the time the first side quieted down. I was up from 3 am. Not the most relaxing night of my life. I heard form locals that the best time in this hotel is weekdays, weekends get loud.

Warm and friendly
The room was a nice size, the bed and pillows were very nice, not to hard or soft. It had a safe for my use, which is a very nice amenities. The one thing I did not know was having to take a ferry from the air port to the town of Ketchikan. This was ten dollars for the ferry crossing. Over all I liked the Hotel, and it was in a good location, close to a mall. They also provided shuttle service from the ferry dock to the hotel, and returned service when leaving.
