Excellent hotel

Very clean, very comfortable beds, quiet location but not far from highway, in addition to in-hotel restaurant there are excellent restaurants nearby. On the grounds is a gem of a car museum that hotel customers have access to for $5.00. It was unbelievable!! Nice laundry facilities. Wonderful and helpful staff. Highly recommend this hotel.

Bear Lodge Hotel

The hotel room at the bear lodge hotel in Fairbanks was really nice and clean. The only reason I'm not giving a 5 star rating is because the room did not have a microwave or a small refrigerator but other than that, it was perfect. The staff were very friendly and courteous.

Wedgewood

The hotel is a converted apartment complex. It offered very large accommodation with a kitchen, dining room, living room with a 50 inch TV a bath and a bedroom with two beds. It is far from town so you much use the free shuttle to get around, it takes time but is convenient.

comfortable hotel with helpful staff

When we decided to stay an extra night, we were charged $129 plus tax. Should they have given the discounted price? We made an assumption, but did not verify when we extended the stay. [...] All except the extra cost for the second night was good. The hotel has a trolly to help people get to various city sights.

Good Value in Fairbanks

Stayed here with my boyfriend for a few days before heading to Denali for the summer season. Suites were well-equiped, with new appliances and tv. Beds and pillows were uncomfortable, but could easily have been fixed. Also, the suites appear to have once been apartments, but the walls are thin, and you can hear a lot of your neighbor noise. It was nice to be able to have somewhere to have a home-cooked meal, especially having just spent a week driving the Alcan.

Good Value

We did not have much time to enjoy the beautiful room and surrounding. We checked in late, and had to check out very early for a sight-seeing trip. But we enjoyed the comfortable though short stay at the lodge. Thank you.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

There is a very worth-while place to visit: a wild lives and bird sanctuary place very near this resort. Almost next door to it. That's why this resort has such a nice surrounding.

Extremely disappointing

This resort was mediocre at best. It's a considerable distance from downtown or any of the touristy destinations (apart from the Creamer's Field/bird watching which is adjacent). The walk to downtown, while not completely absurd in distance, is not exactly picturesque as you have to walk next to the freeway. Walking to places like Pioneer Park, Museum of the North or the Pump House is only recommended for the spry. The property looks like a 70s-era college apartment building (which I believe it actually is during the school months), and the interior is much like a cheap roadside motel's. The best part is that they offer a shuttle around town; unfortunately, it only operates in the afternoons so forget about it taking you anywhere prior to 1pm. But at least the shuttle drivers are pleasant and helpful. Too little value for the amount I paid and very underwhelmed by their service and attitude.
