Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites FAIRBANKS

We used this hotel during our stay in Fairbanks in early spring to watch the northern lights. My wife needed to work during the day and the wifi at the hotel worked great for that. The room was comfortable and clean. They also had amenities like workout room and pool which are nice. The only downsides were: cost - it was a bit pricy and location. It is located almost in the parking lot of some big box retailers. But that wasn't that big a deal for me.

Came to Fairbanks for a school sporting event. Location of the hotel is great, in the same plaza as several chain restaurants and big name shopping stores. The stay itself was ok. Hotel is clean, has a pool and cable. We stayed on the 3rd floor and could hear the neighbors and upstairs occupants. Not so bad that we felt the need to complain but it could be a problem for others. We had friends on the 2nd floor above the pool, they were moved on their second day due to the chlorine smell in their room and the noisy neighbors and pool noise. The maid came and cleaned our room but forgot to give us new towels and soaps, etc. Overall, it was not a bad stay. There are plug-ins outside for your car which was nice, it was in the negative temps when we went. We will stay here next year. The location and the fact that they have a pool makes it worth it (for us).

The hotel is near shopping opportunities, which is great for families. The warm breakfast choices are very nice as well. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful.

The staff at this hotel is exemplary. They were all friendly, personable and knowledgeable. The hotel had nice personal touches, including homemade cookies from one of the staff and fun Halloween decorations. The location was great, with major shopping and restaurants within a short walk. Our only let down was the pool area was broken with no repair date in sight.

Dirty linen, no towels, air conditioning not working, power outage. When I asked for clean towels, they said "come get them" 80 degrees in the room. Hair all over the bathroom floor.

The hotel was nice, but nothing special. The breakfast that was served never has Holiday Inn's cinnamon buns. The lady just kept saying "maybe tomorrow". We stayed there for 8 nights. Two of the days our room was never cleaned. Even when it was "cleaned", it was just barely making the bed and only replacing towels. Housekeeping really needs to work on their job.

FREAKIN ASWESOME- VERY FRIENDLY! GOOD BREAKFAST! PRETTY NICE POOL! (WELL NICE FOR FAIRBANKS) WILL FOR SURE BE GOING BACK! VIVA LAS HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS!

Stayed here so I could take my son swimming. HORRIBLE idea! Ordered the hotel room online and when I went to check in they charged my card an additional $100 for 'incidentals' ...which being on a budget, left us NO money to do anything with during our stay. On top of that our truck got so cold overnight that it wouldn't start the next morning and the hotel WOULD NOT cooperate with us. They said if we weren't checked out in time, they would charge us for 1/2 a day...mind you we had a 6 month old baby with us!!!! My husband sat outside for over an hour trying to get our truck to start in -40• weather! We ended up having to call a tow truck to come just so we could get our truck home, a whole 5 miles away TOPS! And how did we pay for this? We didn't! We luckily were USAA insurance members & roadside assistance came and saved our butts! So thanks for nothing holiday inn! & thanks for everything USAA!...and on top of everything, this all happened on my birthday!

Excellent hotel to stay at would recommend to anybody that goes to fairbanks to check out holiday inn express.

Convenient to shopping, banks, main highway, and a few restaurants. Good starting point for tourist attractions, most within a 50 mile radius (hey, it's Alaska!) Polite and helpful staff, clean facilities, nice breakfast (more than we could begin to eat...with some small changes daily...not bored with breakfast after a 6 night stay.) Only down side, we stayed in until about 10 AM daily with 'do not disturb' sign out. Missed getting the bed made and fresh towels one day, although the cleaning ladies/maids were supposed to check the rooms twice a day to make sure no one was missed. But clean towels and clothes were promptly delivered when I told them of oversight. Comfortable bed and chair, big TV, and hidden microwave and refrigerator made it seem a 'cut aove'. I would definitely stay there again.
