Alpine Lodge Fairbanks AK
Staff were introverts - never initiated a "hello", but if you said "hello" to them, they would respond. Room was clean and had the essentials - TV, microwave, refrigerator. Continental breakfast was just that - Continental - nothing above or beyond. The restaurant attached to the hotel was very nice - decor, piano player and a good cajun halibut salad!

Unless you play hockey, stay away
This is my 4th or 5th stay at this hotel and unfortunately the experience has been much the same throughout. Meaning, this was indeed the last time I stay with them. As it turns out they sponsor the area hockey teams (middle and high school)...this means there are a lot of unsupervised rowdy kids running around the hallways, stomping and screaming until all hours. The walls are paper thin (someone saved a few bucks on insulating for sure) and the front desk rarely knows what to do, if they even offer to help you get the goo nights sleep you paid for. When I complained about the noise, I was told in so many words to "get over it" or ask for a room on the 3rd floor the next time I book (which would have been helpful had I known they would be taking over the hotel at the time of booking...). So with that, I'm done with the Alpine Lodge. Perhaps if you stayed in non hockey season...?

Hesitant traveler
Great value
The hotel was very nice, clean, and rates were good. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The continental breakfast was a great deal more than expected. There was always free coffee available day or night. Definitely would stay there again and recommend to friends and family.

Nice spot close to the airport

Great WiFi - Good Price - Clean
Hotel is closest one to airport. Very quiet - beds comfortable - rooms clean. Great WiFi connection - would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in Fairbanks. I have stayed in many hotels in the Fairbanks area but from now on I will stay at the Alpine Lodge.

Nice hotel near airport
After 17 h of traveling we finally made it to the bed. Alpine Lodge is a few minutes away (free shuttle) from the airport. Check in/out was quick and easy. Complimentary breakfast was very good (quality and variety). Room was comfortable (with fridge and microwave). In the morning we warmed up in a sauna. We stayed for one night to rest from the flight before going to Chena Hot Springs. Overall we had a good stay.

Great Place to Stay
Our stay was very nice, didn't use the lounge/restaurant as we had to go outside to enter rather that through the hotel. Very cold in winter in Fairbanks, would have been nice to have internal access to lounge/restaurant.
