7 Gables Inn

We did not get the jacuzzi suite that we reserved. We were put in a small apartment four blocks from the main inn and it was so noisy we could not sleep. then after an extremely long conversation with the manager we were moved to another apartment about three miles from the inn. This apartment had floors that sloped to the center of the building and was not clean at all, but at least we were able to sleep there. The manager stated that this was an upgrade and in the hotel business we should be happy that he was willing to do that for us. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Every thing else with this trip worked without a hitch.

This was one of the most terrible experiences we have ever encountered in hotel accomodation and price. The accodation was no where near what was presented to us in the advertisment. It was a total bait and switch routine where we were sucked in by the advertising and given something old, dirty, non functioning and smoke filled. We hope people read our comments so they will not be fooled by the false advertising of this hell hole. Closet doors were ripped out of their tracks, place smelled of smoke, TV and stove did not work. We had no towels and place was very run down and old. The manager was rude and non cooperative and hung up on us when we complained about the bait and switch. We paid far more then we should have for this sub standard room for 2 nights. I booked to stay a entire week. I showed and directed to one of their other properties, The Archway Abbey Inn. It was located behind a NAPA Store. The stairway from the second floor to the third floor was not there. It should have been my first clue , when the room number was written in magic marker on the door. When we entered the room, the bed covers looked like they had been bought at a garage sale. We pulled back the sheets and discovered a blood stain on it. The blanket had several cigarette burns on it. All the signs of a good crack house. We did not stay the night and moved to the Holiday Inn.

I found the single light in the bathroom to be inadequate. The number of stairs to get in and out of our room were excessive, we are older adults.

Shower head had very little pressure. Bedroom had dust bunnies under headboard.

From all the advertisements, I assumed this "inn" to be a real inn and not somebody's home with a bunch of rooms for rent. Because it really just is somebody's home! I totally did not expect that and I was not keen on that. They didn't even have any forms for me to sign that I even showed up and just wrote post it notes on the "room" I was supposed to stay in. If people like that and expect it, it's okay, but this can not be called an "inn." Maybe classify as a bed and breakfast at least! So the establishment was pretty okay, but just not what I wanted out of it.

We have actually stayed at 7 Gables on several occassions. The rooms are pretty and comfortable as long as you don't get stuck in one without a bathroom. The breakfast is better some days than others. This last trip it seemed like leftovers I think because it is the off season. Overall I would recomend it just make sure that your getting the room type that you really want.

This was my first "Inn" experience and I loved it. As soon as I walked in it felt like a home. Completely different from a hotel, the staff is nice and offer a great breakfast. The Inn has a very European feel, and takes you to a different place than Fairbanks :)

Overall a nice stay. Rooms were small but clean. Jacuzzi brand tub, cable TV and DVD in the room. Breakfast was made everyday - always good and different. Bikes and canoes were available with easy access to the Chena river. Staff were friendly and helpful. Not a chain hotel. I would stay there again.

well the room was small but cozy, the rest of the place was quite spacious, great kitchen loaded with food great common area, all in all a fun and cozy place to stay.
