Not a good choice!

There were no screens for the windowsm giving a choice of mosquitos or heat. There was an empty beer can on the floor between the wall and bedside table, a lot of filth under the bed, human hair on the shower wall. The decals on the shower bottom were rising, being annoying under foot. There is a bowling alley next door and people were outside fighting one night. However, the location is good, fairly close to both the airport and downtown.

Very Bad Service

We stayed at Royal Suite Lodge in Anchorage on June 21 for a night in Room 208. To our surprise, there was no hot water in this room. We notified the front desk, who came to verify the water temperature, but told us there was nothing he could do. He left you a note because you are the owner/manager, and because he would be off duty at 12 am. Nothing was done, so our family had to take a cold shower or skip showers. There was still no hot water the next morning until we checked out at 11 am, and the new front desk person again told us there was nothing she could do.

Royal Suite Lodge is a pooly maintained property. Pooly furnished. Furnished only with a bed an a small, very small, round table with a plastic folding chair.

Don't go there

It is not clean. It is a studio. It has a kitchen but don't have any cookware and utentils. We have this hotel two times. The second time it does not have a kitchen at all. The room is not clean and very noise at night.

it needs to be condemed.

The Royal Suite Lodge is a hud housing complex that rents out units when they happen to be empty. It is a old dirty building that should be torn down. It is a dark and dirty place with no right to be called a motel or hotel. The card table and folding chairs where a laugh. The kitchen was a mess. The room was just a place to sleep. Other than being inside I cant say anything good about it. I would tent camp rather than stay there again.

Tired and Worn....Both Us and This Hotel

Royal Suite is too grand a title for this very tired and worn out motel. The legions of visitors before us obviously disregarded the smoking ban in what is only a motel room, hardly a suite. The grungy broken-down couch and overall sloppy housekeeping made us fearful to turn down the bed covering but the sheets were clean....a surprise. The front office staff is pleasant. Close to the airport, it permitted us a night's sleep, but we were glad our stay wasn't any longer. You get what you pay for...perhaps looking here for a good value in Anchorage was naive.

Not far from the airport...appealing after a long flight from The Lower 48.

central location

It was very large for the price - 2 bedrooms and living area with kitchen - and located in an area central to everything we needed to do in Anchorage. It was, however, also an apartment rental building and the walls and floors were paper thin. You could clearly hear the TV in other rooms and loudly hear walking overhead. I only dealt with 2 staff members while there. One was lazy and rude and the other was very helpful and accomodating.

This would be a great ...

This would be a great place if you have a car and want to stay for several days or longer. They have no shuttle during the winter. So, it cost about $25 extra to use taxis. The room was a very nice suite with a good kitchen. There was no real resturant within walking distance on a dark and snowy night. The closet in the bedroom was large and the bed was comfortable.

There is a large bowling alley right next door. There is a service station and some shopping very close.
