One night stay
We checked in and the receptionist was extremely helpful in locating us a room for early check in. The rooms are on the small side (but not as small as I expected based on other reviews so I was pleasantly surprised). The bed was super comfy (wish I didn't have to get up at 4AM to get to the airport!). Walked everywhere I wanted to go and even though it is on the edge of town, it was relatively convienent. The shuttle at $15.00 is a deal - but if there are 2 or more in your party not so much so - better off with a cab (unless the shuttle is per party). Looked like b'fast was basic (cereal, milk and fruit), Price was certainly right!!!

A nice hotel for a single traveler.
Small rooms, easy access to downtown anchorage, and an oscillating fan to boot. The hotel was pretty basic but well kept and clean. I had a litte trouble regulating the temperature since my window opened to a hallway instead of to outside. The staff was very kind and set the room up with an oscillating fan before hand. Walk three blocks and you are downtown, of course it's Anchorage so downtown isn't much. Overall I had a nice stay.

Great destination
I usually stay here when I visit Anchorage. It's a small, yet clean and newly renovated hotel right in the heart of downtown right next to the park. It doesn't get much better than that.... on average, you can spend 2-3 nights here for the same price as one night in the Marriot or Hilton.

Only Home was more comfortable.
This is a very small hotel as hotels go. But how many times have you stayed somewhere where the entire staff knows you by name. I felt more as family then a guest. Never been to any hotel that offered freshly made chocolate chip cookies each evening accompanied by a cup of hot coffee. The staff actively tried to assist you in every way they could. You never felt that you were imposing on their space or their time. Needed to sent a fax, copy a document not a problem. I was in Anchorage, alone away from my family. Yet I did not feel isolated. Even thou my stay was over Christmas. Will I stay there again? You Can Count On It!

Had an Awesome Stay
I was very happy with my stay at this hotel. I arrived and my room was not ready yet and so they immediately upgraded me to a larger room. The rooms are smallish but i was looking for a place to sleep not live. The room had all that one would expect in a larger hotel chain. The building has been upgrades and is very quaint, pleasing and comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It is perfect for the value. I would definitely stay here again.

Welcome to the Purple Funky
Went to Anchorage to visit with my son. Stayed in the hotel with my wife. Because of the long hours of daylight in Alaska, sun blocking drapes were necessary but missing for sleeping. There was no airconditioner and the only window opened onto a hallway. The ceiling fan made a LOT of noise and also made sleeping difficult. Although clean and friendly, this was a LOW END hotel which was across the street from the Clarion and near Super 8 and other more acceptable hotels.

Excellent Service!
At first we were unimpressed by the small room given to us on the third floor. A few weeks earlier we asked for a room on the first floor so that my mother who experiences difficulty in walking would have an easier time getting to the room. When this wasn't granted, they quickly found a solution without hesitation; they found another hotel that would honor our reservation. We really appreciated their service and understanding of our problem. I would recommend staying here if you don't have problems walking up narrow stairs.
