The hotel was not aware of my reservation, so it took longer for the check-nn. I was charged for parking (according to Orbitz ... it was complimentary)

The hotel was very nice, and the staff helpful and friendly, however on our last night, we had no power in our room which ... made it very difficult to pack to catch our plane at 5 am. We had to leave th door open to get light from the hall, should have been made aware of the problem when it occured. There were other rooms available. Otherwise the hotel was just fine.

The room was very small, very big walk in closet. Not a lot of ammenities but centrally located in the heart of downtown. Two ... suitcase stands, AC unit ok, small bathroom. Somewhat pricey for the room quality. Obviously they are charging you for the location more than anything. The east wing of the hotel is old where the lobby and first floor is all new and renovated. Not bad for a building made in 1936.

Las Olas offers two atmospheres: the singles side and the couples and family side. If you go west of US-1 you will be in party central. If you stay east of US-1 lots of restaurants, shopping and shopping available.

There are many stores and eating places right outside the hotel doors. One of our favorite eateries is a restaurant called Mangoes. The Riverside is located right downtown Ft. Lauderdale and is also convient to exhibits and movie theaters and of course other fine restaurants on the river walkway.

Very friendly and accomodating

I love the location. Our view is either of the famous Las Olas street in downtown Ft. Lauderdale or the intercoastal. The ... room is decorated with Tommy Bahama furniture and very comfortable and colorful. Request rooms from the 2nd floor up since the view is beautiful and there are many people passing on the street level which makes it difficult to keep your curtains open without feeling that everyone is looking in. The staff is accomodating and always does its best to please the customer. Another plus is that the Cheesecake Factory is located on the corner of this hotel-A great place to eat.
