great location - only 5 mins walk
great location - only 5 mins walk into town. Very clean room, friendly and helpful staff. we had a great stay.

EXPENSIVE !! AND NOT GOOD
Eepensive, not clean. Breakfast- What little there was on display looked quite sick. Undercooked fried eggs, solid scramble egg and bacon and beans that had seen little or no heat. On top of that, if the party downstairs didn't wake you up the cold shower in the morning certainly did. AVOID AT ALL COSTS !!!

Food is excellent at Michaels Brasserie in the middle of the city. Quiet, personal and excellent cooking.

Great place to stay
We did not eat at the hotel just used it as a place to sleep so that we could get out in york and enjoy. Everything in the hotel was exactly as we would expect. The staff were very helpfull and the room was clean and comfortable. The hotel was also in a quiet location - we slept with the window open each night and were not disturbed once. Would recommend to anyone and will be visiting again

The Travel Insider
Spacious rooms, but dark, noisy and hot
Rooms were large, but not air conditioned. Fortunately the one window could open wide, but then the road noise (close to a police station - lots of sirens) flooded in. The room was also very dark and dimly lit. Bed not very comfortable, with duvet rather than sheets or blankets. No cask ales on tap in the bar. Lovely pub nearby - Mason's Arms - great food and drink.

Whilst facilities, service and location were very good, the hotel lacked atmosphere. Very quiet, possibly this could be due to weather - cold and lots of snow.

The room was very good, although
The room was very good, although we could not change the aircon and it was too warm. The interior passageways looked a bit old but we were generally happy.
