Ah...BEST WESTERN Valley Hotel. A stunning retreat located in the breathtakingly beautiful World Heritage site of Ironbridge, just four miles from Telford. Words may not do the AA 3 star Georgian House justice, but when we tell you that the hotel overlooks the River Severn, is bordered by beautiful parkland, has 44 individual ensuite bedrooms, and full conference and banqueting facilities and lies within easy reach of museums and attractions that showcase this world famous area and its industrial heritage, the scene should be well and truly set! The 2 AA rosette awarded Chez Maw Restaurant offers a full á la carte menu with a selection of modern European cuisine, and offers views of the stunning valley (as does the adjoining bar area) to provide a unique and relaxing experience for all guests. Excellent service, award wining food in a fantastic location, make this hotel almost indescribable!

On the first night we had a bad nights sleep - we were in a 'loft room' with only a small high window and it was so hot, with no fresh air or fan. We were able to transfer to the first floor the next day and the reception were so helpful. They
explained that it was a listed building and they had offered us a room with a view#albeit a bit restricted# of the gardens rather than the room we changed to as it had inferior grooves and we may experience noise from the fan from the kitchen nearby. I should have questioned the room earlier, but we do not like to 'make a fuss', however it was so uncomfortable we needed an airier room , also without the steep stairs to access the first room.
The means were top class and the service from all at the hotel was excellent. The gardens are so relaxing and it is only a 10-20 minute walk to the main areas.
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
Short walk from hotel
Turn left out the hotel and walk 10 minutes to a great pub for steaks (near the power station - but still good wooded views & great food).
Go 15 minutes towards the Bridge for brilliant food at the Malthouse.
Both are good alternatives to the hotel food which is brilliant but can be a bit too rich.
