Dating back to 1854, this hotel is the former high school of Stirling, and has retained many of the original school house features including the fully working observatory at the top of the building. Located in the cent-re of Stirling, just a stroll from the town's famous landmark Castle, this wonderful hotel has recently been upgraded with refurbished bedrooms.

stunning, historic and comfortable
This is a wonderful place, an ancient stone structure with amazing detail, like Harry Potters' school It felt like taking a step back in time but with all modern amenities. Its right in the center of Stirling, walking distance from everything. The staff were always pleasant, kind and went out of their way to help. My only minor critique is that the 24 hour room service was a bit difficult to access as it seemed there was only one staff member on duty during the night to handle reception,switchboard, room service, clean up and security. A bit much for one person, so the phones didnt get answered for a while.

Stirling Castle. It just opened after a long renovation and it is amazing. Not to be missed, for history buffs and people who love stunning vistas
