Birthday weekend
This was a special treat for both myself and my husbands birthdays. Been through St Andrews many times but never stayed. Hotel is first class, from check-in to check-out. We had Room 226 overlooking the golf and the sea. Very comfortable, although no mood changing jacuzzi bath (why ? ) Very snoozable beds and we both slept well for the three nights we were there. Breakfast at the Road Hole on the 4th floor is the best we have ever had, and we have travelled extensively, also the most wonderful view. Spa is first class and faultless. Choice is huge and on the breakfast card on your table if you do not want the buffet the choices on the this are included and not extra. We dined in Sands one night which was excellent and service was very quick. Also dined in the Jigger Inn which was nice but very small cramped tables. Food was ok. The Thai restaurant up in town namely the Nahm Jhim is very good, also the Dolls House and the Glass House. Would recommend a visit to the Scottish Deer Centre, the farm shop just 1 minute along the road and also the little Aquarium which has 17 little Meerkats that will steal your heart. OK this hotel is very pricey and being American owned I think the other side of the pond get better deals than us Scots do. But if your looking to treat yourself for a special occasion and splash out you wont go wrong here. We did also have beautiful blue sunny skies, crisp and bright with no wind which does make your stay much more pleasant. Highly recommended.

The Old Course Hotel is truly the finest resort I have visited anywhere. It's location adjacent to the road hole is ideal and the amenities, service, and staff were exceptional. The Old Course suites are spacious and comfortable with amazing views of the course, the town and the sea.

tophotel!! jedoch war der frühstücksraum jeden tag überfüllt und wir mußten teilweise bis zu 20 min an der bar warten.
