we were given a very small dirty room to start with, there were stains on the carpet, a flex strewn across the floor as we walked in which my wife tripped on, a 3/4 bed pushed right up against the wall with a single headboard which had been
shoddily fastened to the wall with a strip of wood, the bath was suitable only for someone under 3ft tall, a broken light fitting and the room was not much bigger than the bed! After complaining to the manager he told us he knew how bad the room was and said that the room was originally a single room but Brittania hotels had insisted they were all made into doubles when they took over ownership. We were given another room which was bigger and better but not ideal as there were stains on the ceiling, a broken shower screen with dangerous sharp edges and the shower was a mere cold trickle. When we visited the 'health club' we found the pool was very cold and the sauna and spa were both broken - the spa was broken when we stayed here 12 months ago and the girl on the health club desk told us it had been broken for over 18 months! we paid more money to stay here, choosing this hotel over much cheaper ones because of these facilities but we were unable to use them - again! overall the hotel is very run down and they don't provide the facilities they advertise!!
