One night stay

This hotel was fine for a short stay. The room and bathroom were very small but cleverly designed - basic and adequate, as we did not need to spend much time in the room. The beds were very comfortable. A good breakfast was included. Secure car park for 24 hours was £6 extra - very reasonable, but the hotel was quite a long walk to the Gunwharf Quay and Historic Dockyard, so we were glad to have a taxi. Maybe the buses would have covered that journey - we'd have been glad to have some info provided about transport options and carparks near the scenic areas . Hotel staff were always friendly and helpful, but did not know about the buses running beside the hotel. (We should have found all that info out before we came). We came to Portsmouth for a special event at the Mary Rose Museum, which was amazing, and we went back to see more of the Mary Rose and the Dockyard, including a Harbour Tour the next day. We hope to come again as there is so much to see, and would be happy to stay at the Ibis .

Sightseeing tip: Long walk from hotel

Mary Rose Museum and Historic Dockyard are really fantastic to visit - allow plenty of time - a whole day in fact.
